Rachel

What do the berries think of the name [name]Rachel[/name]? Good? Bad? Dated? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

A good, solid name. I like it a lot, though it doesn’t “wow” me. I’d give her a really fun, whimsical middle name to balance out [name]Rachel[/name]'s softness.

To me, Biblical names never get dated. They maybe feel more or less “fresh”, but not dated per se. I like the name [name]Rachel[/name]. I think it’s bordering on a little less fresh right now than it probably will be, oh, for the next generation or two, but I agree it’s still totally useable and a really frilly middle name would dress it up.

[name]Hope[/name] that helps! All best!

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Rachel[/name]. It’s on my short list. It would be a serious contender should I ever have more than one daughter ([name]LOVE[/name] the idea of [name]Isabelle[/name] and [name]Rachel[/name] as sisters!). I asked for a ton of reactions on another baby name site, because it seemed like everyone told me it was dated, boring, ugly, etc. Which I don’t understand, haha. It seems like a lot of people love it, most wouldn’t use it, but a few think it sounds really harsh? I’ve always loved it, and even though it’s a little dated, I think it’s totally usable now. I agree about the soft, whimsical MN idea. Not sure if these really fit that definition, haha, but the two combos I’ve considered most seriously are [name]Rachel[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name] and [name]Rachel[/name] [name]Anais[/name]. I think they’re both fabulous! I’m currently considering meshing both combos–[name]Rachel[/name] [name]Anais[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name]. I’m not thrilled with the flow, though, and I’m afraid it’s a bit over-the-top.

Good luck!

I love [name]Rachel[/name], and I think nickname [name]Rae[/name] could be on-trend with all the talk that [name]Mae[/name] gets on this site. [name]Rachel[/name] in full is lovely too. I list it as one of those totally feminine but not frilly names. A frilly mn might balance it out but it doesn’t need it. A simple, elegant middle would be beautiful with [name]Rachel[/name], too.
