Racheline

[name_m]How[/name_m] do you say it? It was suggested to me by someone on NB that I would credit if I could remember who, and it intrigued me.

[name_u]Ray[/name_u]-shell-leen was my first thought and I liked that. Or Rah-shell-leen. Kind of like [name_f]Marcheline[/name_f].

Then maybe -line? Like [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]? Not as fond of it but I could live.

Or is it with a hard ch like [name_f]Rachel[/name_f]? [name_f]Rachel[/name_f]-line? [name_f]Rachel[/name_f]-leen? Harsh-sounding.

[name_u]Ray[/name_u]-shell-leen was my first thought

First instinct: Rah-shell-leen. Then I tried to pronounce it like [name_f]Rachel[/name_f], but I agree that it sounds harsh. Lastly I tried Rah-shel-line and I think that’s my favourite pronounciation.

First instinct was rah-shell-LEEN (emphasis on the third syllable), but I’ve never seen it before.

Ohmygoodnessssss I am so excited to see this thread! If someone else suggested it to you, I have no clue who it is, because I’ve suggested it every time you make a [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] thread. :] I don’t say it for the credit–I just really wanted you to like Racheline, lol.

I’ve always said it [name_f]Rachel[/name_f]-een, but come to think of it, [name_f]Rachelle[/name_f]-een probably makes more sense… I think it’s gorgeous. I love just [name_f]Rachel[/name_f], but I really love the idea of Racheline. I think it’s so intriguing and fun and unusual.

Yay! The source has been found! I have been thinking about it a lot [name_u]Ash[/name_u] - I know I was initially a bit cool towards it, but I tend to work through combos very, very slowly. It’s been slowly rising up my possibility list as I ponder it.

It is a nice mix of uncommon but not impossible, iykwim.
