Rafferty vs Riordan

I love both these names, but alas, we obviously couldn’t use both (might be a little too matchy!).
So which do you prefer and perhaps more importantly, why?
[name_m]Rafferty[/name_m]- possible nicknames [name_u]Rafe[/name_u], [name_m]Raffy[/name_m]
[name_m]Riordan[/name_m]- possible nicknames [name_u]Rory[/name_u], [name_u]Rio[/name_u]

It would also be fab if you could take a look at the names in my signature and comment on how well they might ‘go’ as possible siblings! Thank you very much

(I know they are both very Irish, and although I’m 1/2 English 1/2 Scottish, DH is of Irish ancestory and would like to honour that!)

I love [name_m]Riordan[/name_m].
Although the nickname [name_u]Rafe[/name_u] is cute, [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] is nms personally

I prefer [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m], but only because [name_m]Riordan[/name_m] sounds too much like “rear end” to me.

I like [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] nn [name_m]Raffy[/name_m]. I think [name_m]Riordan[/name_m] would have pronunciation difficulties. I could see [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m]'s siblings being [name_f]Isadora[/name_f], [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], and [name_m]Elwood[/name_m].

[name_m]Riordan[/name_m] for sure.

There seems to be a little trendiness going on with the name [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] at the moment.

[name_m]Riordan[/name_m] sounds beautifully dark and romantic, while [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] sounds to me like a last name, and a bit plain.

I have not heard of [name_m]Riordan[/name_m] as a first name, and it’s so gorgeous, I totally encourage you to use it! I think it goes great with the names in your signature as well.

I like them both so I understand how hard it is to choose! [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] sounds amazing as its full name but I like [name_m]Raffy[/name_m]’ too. [name_u]Ever[/name_u] since [name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Law[/name_m] chose it for his son I’ve been hooked! I’ve never heard of a [name_m]Riordan[/name_m]! I guess it’s similar to [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] in sound. I love the shortened name of [name_u]Rio[/name_u].

We have similar naming styles. I’ve been trying to convince my partner to use [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] if we have a boy in Feb! [name_u]Rio[/name_u] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] sounds great!

From your list I also love [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m], [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u], [name_m]Silas[/name_m], [name_m]Otis[/name_m] and [name_u]August[/name_u]. Out of the girls I love [name_f]Starling[/name_f] and Wildrose.

[name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] and [name_u]August[/name_u] are a cool pairing. As are [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] and [name_m]Gulliver[/name_m]. I like how they both have double letters.

I like both [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] and [name_m]Riordan[/name_m]. I think they both match with the names in your signature, the only issue I would have is having a [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] and [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] as they both end in a similar vowel sound.
