[name_m]Just[/name_m] curious if anyone can think of or knows of any names tied to the railways? [name_m]Porter[/name_m], [name_m]Carter[/name_m] and the other W- starting ones are unusable. I found Fettler, but unsure if I‘d actually use it.
Our last name is [name_m]Olsen[/name_m], so I can’t use any Col- related names, as much as I’ve always loved them.
So far I have [name_m]Asher[/name_m], but would love ideas for our list. [name_m]The[/name_m] railways were a big part of my family’s history. Thanks!
Maybe…
[name_m]Gage[/name_m] (feels more name-y than the [name_m]Gauge[/name_m] spelling)
Pullman
[name_m]Diesel[/name_m]
This was challenging! But railways are such a cool connection for a name.

Thank you! We’re in [name_m]Australia[/name_m]. [name_m]The[/name_m] area where my family worked was in [name_m]Western[/name_m] [name_f]Sydney[/name_f], where the place name is semi-unusable and also a First Nations word, but still searching for different ideas related to that area.
This is most likely not what you are looking for, but now I have finally been given the opportunity to mention [name_f]Chessie[/name_f]! It was the name of Chesapeake and Ohio Railway’s mascot (a kitten). Perhaps [name_m]Chester[/name_m] could be a full form, haha.

My first thought was something with the nn Ty, like railway ties? Or maybe [name_m]Yardley[/name_m], for the railway yard?
Good luck!
