Please be sensitive with this as I still find it all very emotional.
Having lost two girl babies, we are pregnant with a boy. This time round all looks to be okay and we are allowing ourself to believe, so names are finally coming up. We have a probable first name but I kind of want to keep it private as it feels really special and I have some superstition, I hope that’s okay.
I would really like to subtly honour my girls in my son’s middle name. His first name and surname will be very ‘normal’ and I am open to something a bit more out there for the middle. Equally, something normal sounding but with a beautiful meaning. We had a few ideas with girl middle names - [name_f]Mariposa[/name_f], [name_f]Hope[/name_f], [name_f]Clover[/name_f], [name_u]Sunrise[/name_u] - but can’t seem to come up with equivalent for boys.
Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you - I really appreciate it.
Congratulations on your rainbow baby boy! I can imagine that this is such a personal and emotional time for you and completely understand your hesitation for sharing. I am wishing you nothing but the best
Maybe a virtue name would work for you;
[name_f]Destiny[/name_f]
[name_u]Genesis[/name_u]
[name_f]Kismet[/name_f]
[name_u]Journey[/name_u]
Valour
[name_u]Sterling[/name_u]
[name_u]Brave[/name_u]
[name_u]Quest[/name_u]
Nobel
[name_u]Merit[/name_u]
Or a nature name
[name_u]Beau[/name_u] / [name_m]Bow[/name_m] ( nod to your journey)
[name_u]Rain[/name_u]/ [name_u]Reign[/name_u]
[name_u]Sunny[/name_u]/ [name_u]Sonny[/name_u]
[name_u]Asher[/name_u] (new beginning)
[name_u]Brooke[/name_u]
[name_u]Neo[/name_u]
How about a name that means the third. As a reminder of the two much loved little ones who came before him? The following all seem to have ties to being the third
Trey
[name_m]Tripp[/name_m]
[name_m]Tertius[/name_m]
[name_m]Silas[/name_m]
[name_m]Triton[/name_m]
[name_f]Terza[/name_f] (Italian for third)
Or a name that means brother in a nod to his sisters? How about [name_m]Broderick[/name_m]
Good luck and congratulations on your rainbow baby. All three of your babies are lucky to have such a caring mama.
Perhaps you could use [name_u]Jem[/name_u], [name_f]Gem[/name_f] or [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] to honour the precious memories of his sisters?
[name_m]Clovis[/name_m]
[name_m]Ruben[/name_m] (again, gives the precious jewel association and it’s meaning ‘behold, a son’ is gorgeous)
[name_u]Rosen[/name_u] (feels gender neutral and you may connect with the imagery of his sisters being beautiful roses)
[name_u]Evren[/name_u] (meaning universe - perhaps a nod to him being connected to his sisters’ souls in the universe)
or [name_f]Aneko[/name_f] because of the meaning of older sister. It has a masculine sound from a Western perspective.
[name_f]Welcome[/name_f] to Nameberry. Sending you so many good wishes during this pregnancy
Sorry to hear about your losses.

[name_m]Leo[/name_m] “lion”

The name [name_m]Walken[/name_m] happens to be the Aboriginal word for rainbow. I wouldn’t use an indigenous name that wasn’t widely used in [name_f]English[/name_f], but [name_m]Walken[/name_m] is a common surname that just happens to have a lovely and fitting meaning in another language.
