Still pondering [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]…
What does everyone think of the combo [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_f]Delphi[/name_f]?
I’m not a huge fan of this one; I honestly think it comes off as a little pretentious
I think what makes your children’s names so wonderful is that they feel effortlessly cool; they’re interesting and a little different but still grounded.
Maybe it’s because I already view [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] as the “a little quirky and different” name that I feel a very off-beat name next to hear is over-the top?!
From your other thread, I really liked the suggestion of [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_f]Liv[/name_f]; [name_f]Liv[/name_f] is different but very earthy and effortless and personally that’s my favourite direction in which you could take a [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] combo.
I agree 100% with @Opheliaflora. [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] is perhaps too much and doesn’t really harmonize with your kids’ brilliant names. I feel like [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] needs to pair with something shorter in syllables (two maximum), that feels simple but isn’t exactly common or mainstream. In that sense, I think the suggestion of [name_f]Liv[/name_f] is perfect either pronounced Leev or the more English intuitive [name_f]Liv[/name_f]
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_f]Luz[/name_f]/[name_f]Lux[/name_f]
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_f]Zoe[/name_f]
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_f]Clio[/name_f]/[name_f]Cleo[/name_f]
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_u]Blue[/name_u]
Are some combos that popped up in my mind. I also really like the idea of [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] as a middle name to a shorter first name. Either way [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] is beautiful and would make a beautiful addition to your sibset!
I really wish I knew the names of your children!! I agree with the other posters that [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] takes the quirkiness too far and is like you are trying too hard. I love @lovelace’s suggestion of [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f].
I have to agree with everyone else here. I love [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] (reminds me of the character from the [name_f]Beverly[/name_f] [name_m]Cleary[/name_m] books!) but paired with [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] it’s just so… eh. I want to like it, but it sounds a bit too unique. [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] looks a bit incomplete to me, as well. I’d go with something a bit more vintage, along the lines of [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] (might be a bit too [name_f]Beverly[/name_f] [name_m]Cleary[/name_m], since the mom in those books was named [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]), [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Cecily[/name_f], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], or [name_f]Lillian[/name_f].
Nevertheless, I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], just maybe not with this middle.
I like the sound, but I’m really not sure about it. [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] seems a bit incomplete, and is almost completely unheard of, unlike both of your children’s names. I do think it fits in with the short and spunky thing you should go for though.
I love [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]. If you tweaked the middle name to [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] I would be swooning.
Thanks so much for all your thoughts, I appreciate the honesty!
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] is a no then - it is perhaps a bit too much, though [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] is a family name so I guess feels less “out there” to me.
I like [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_f]Liv[/name_f] and [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] a lot… maybe I need to keep mulling them over. Both are in my longlist as firsts too. I just feel like I use the same middles for everything and would like to branch out a bit!
I really love [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]! So cool and quirky! I do think [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] is pretty but I think there are better middles out there for [name_f]Ramona[/name_f].
I love a previous poster’s suggestion of [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_f]Clio[/name_f] or [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] - beyond gorgeous!
Agree with this.
It’s a very sweet name, but [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] looks so incomplete to me. I would prefer [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f].
Me too!
I’ve got to say there is something about [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] and [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] together which i dislike, but I don’t know what as I like both names individually.
I agree that [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] is gorgeous!!
