BOYS:

[name_m]Socrates[/name_m] - a name that would be hard for any boy to live up to.
[name_f]Alchemy[/name_f] - a name that tries too hard to be cool and ends up sounding silly
[name_m]Balthazar[/name_m] - my favourite “Wise [name_m]Man[/name_m]” name.
[name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] - spunky
[name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] - an underused Blbical name
[name_m]Basil[/name_m] - a name that sounds upper class and very British. I like it.
Charlemagne - a one man name and he’s been dead for ages. I guess if you were a history buff it would make a quirky middle name.
[name_m]Boaz[/name_m] - not my favourite Biblical name but it’s not bad.
[name_m]Geoffrey[/name_m] - an old name that sounds contemporary. This is the best spelling.
[name_m]Hans[/name_m] - [name_m]Johan[/name_m] is better
[name_m]Julian[/name_m] - I love this name but then I prefer “softer” boys names
[name_m]Lucifer[/name_m] - another name for the Devil. No thank you.
[name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m] - I’m not into “wolf” names. [name_m]Amadeus[/name_m] is more my cup of tea.

GIRLS:

[name_f]Ginevra[/name_f] - one of my favourite Italian names for girls.
[name_f]Anona[/name_f] - not a fan
[name_f]Allegra[/name_f] - vibrant and luscious. I’m over the allergy medication issue.
[name_m]Devlin[/name_m] - not a fan
[name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] - one of my favourite versions of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Ines[/name_f] - It’s pronounced “EE-nez” not “EYE-nes”. I love this name.
[name_f]Samara[/name_f] - a memorable name with an exotic flair
[name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] - I’ve grown to like it but I don’t love it
[name_f]Honora[/name_f] - ok but it doesn’t grab me
[name_f]Valentina[/name_f] - exotic and sultry
[name_f]Ariadne[/name_f] - ok but there are much better Greek names out there
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] - feminine and pretty
[name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f] - one of my least favourite names on the planet and many people agree because it’s at the top of the least liked name polls quite consistently. I don’t really consider it a name.

Great list but not this name

Fun reading your list, thanks!

[name_m]Socrates[/name_m]- I’m all for philosopher names (I love [name_m]Ptolemy[/name_m]:)), but I’m not a huge fan of [name_m]Socrates[/name_m]. I don’t really like the Socrat- sound.
[name_f]Alchemy[/name_f] (al-ka-mee)- I like it! But probably as a middle.
[name_m]Balthazar[/name_m]- I don’t like it, but I’m not entirely sure why.
[name_m]Barnaby[/name_m]- [name_u]Love[/name_u]! [name_m]New[/name_m] favourite of mine.
[name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m]- [name_u]Love[/name_u]!
[name_m]Basil[/name_m]- [name_f]My[/name_f] mum has a friend called [name_m]Basil[/name_m], so I can only imagine him, but it’s, a nice name.
Charlemagne (shar-lah-maine)- NMS, maybe as a middle.
[name_m]Boaz[/name_m]- I don’t really like the sound.
[name_m]Geoffrey[/name_m]- Okay
[name_m]Hans[/name_m]- Okay
[name_m]Julian[/name_m]- [name_u]Love[/name_u]!
[name_m]Lucifer[/name_m]- I prefer [name_m]Lucian[/name_m], and the devil connection doesn’t bother me too much(I think of matches), but loads of people will be completely against it.
[name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m]- I prefer just [name_m]Wolf[/name_m], but I love [name_m]Amadeus[/name_m]

GIRLS:
[name_f]Ginevra[/name_f]- [name_u]Love[/name_u]!
[name_f]Anona[/name_f]- I to feels a bit n heavy, I prefer [name_f]Annora[/name_f].
[name_f]Allegra[/name_f]- [name_u]Love[/name_u]! Only heard of the drug here on Nameberry. And it doesn’t bother me, the musical connection is a lot stronger.
[name_m]Devlin[/name_m]- Doesn’t sound like a girls name to me. I’d think it was a boys name.
[name_f]Elspeth[/name_f]- [name_u]Love[/name_u]!
[name_f]Ines[/name_f] (EYE-nez)- No strong feelings towards it. It’s okay.
[name_f]Samara[/name_f]- [name_u]Love[/name_u]!
[name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]- I’m not a fan, not really my style I suppose.
[name_f]Honora[/name_f]- Very nice, I love -ora names!
[name_f]Valentina[/name_f]- I prefer [name_f]Valencia[/name_f].
[name_f]Ariadne[/name_f] (are-ee-add-knee)- [name_u]Love[/name_u], but I think pronunciation could be an issue. I say Ar-ree-add-knee (A like in apple), but apparently it’s said air-ree-add-knee.
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]- When I say it, it’s almost identical to [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], I don’t see the point, unless it’s to hound an [name_f]Emily[/name_f].
[name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f]- Not a fan. It just sounds wrong when I say it. I prefer [name_f]Niamh[/name_f] ([name_f]Neve[/name_f]) or [name_f]Fae[/name_f] ([name_f]Faye[/name_f]).
