Hi! First time posting on the boy names side of the forum. As I had been hard at work with my girl names. My boy’s list is abit more determined and was curious on general rankings and thoughts of them. All middle names are either family names or hold some sort of sentimental value in some way. They aren’t yet in any particular order. One name from my list is missing as it is completely set in stone and I do not want opinions on it at this time - so, in total there would be 7 names, but I’m only sharing 6 for now
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is classically handsome [name_m]Simon[/name_m] [name_m]Luke[/name_m]! Then, in this order from most to least favourite: [name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_u]Clayton[/name_u], [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_m]Finnian[/name_m], [name_u]Landon[/name_u] [name_u]Levi[/name_u], [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] [name_u]Zeke[/name_u] and [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] [name_u]Milo[/name_u]. I think [name_u]Zeke[/name_u] and [name_u]Milo[/name_u] feel really cool as middles and help freshen up [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] and [name_m]Trevor[/name_m], but they’re my two least favourites because to me [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] & [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] feel dated to the 2000’s and 90’s respectively.
[name_f]Lovely[/name_f] choices! [name_f]My[/name_f] favorites have to be [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] & [name_m]Simon[/name_m] [name_m]Luke[/name_m]! But they are closely followed by [name_u]Landon[/name_u] [name_u]Levi[/name_u], I love the alliteration there. [name_u]Milo[/name_u] & [name_u]Zeke[/name_u] are also great choices in my opinion.
I love [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] Finnian!! [name_m]Simon[/name_m] [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_u]Landon[/name_u] [name_u]Levi[/name_u] are also nice. I don’t love [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] or [name_u]Clayton[/name_u], but I do like [name_u]Evan[/name_u], and then [name_u]Zeke[/name_u] and [name_u]Milo[/name_u] for middles are great!
I like [name_u]Landon[/name_u] [name_u]Levi[/name_u], [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] [name_u]Milo[/name_u] and [name_m]Simon[/name_m] [name_m]Luke[/name_m].
If I could mix and match, I would go with [name_u]Levi[/name_u] [name_m]Finnian[/name_m], [name_u]Landon[/name_u] [name_m]Finnian[/name_m], [name_u]Milo[/name_u] [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] or [name_m]Simon[/name_m] [name_u]Levi[/name_u].
[name_m]Simon[/name_m] [name_m]Luke[/name_m] - solid and classic with a biblical vibe. It flows well.
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] - ooh, I like this! It feels zippy but also cool and fresh but also well established!
[name_u]Landon[/name_u] [name_u]Levi[/name_u] - pretty cool and solid - it feels modern and the alliteration is kind of fun
[name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_u]Clayton[/name_u] - I love Evan; strong and gentle at the same time. [name_u]Clayton[/name_u] is cool too, and while I don’t 100% love the flow, they still work. [name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_m]Clay[/name_m] would be nice - or [name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_u]Milo[/name_u] or [name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_u]Zeke[/name_u]!
[name_u]Aidan[/name_u] [name_u]Zeke[/name_u] - [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] is cute but fiery - love the meaning! [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] [name_u]Zeke[/name_u] sounds cool!
[name_m]Trevor[/name_m] [name_u]Milo[/name_u] - I’m very sorry but [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] holds no appeal to me personally - I find it clunky and awkward, kind of like a parody…and [name_u]Milo[/name_u] adds to that vibe (even though I love Milo) I’m sorry!! Still, [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] has ranked in the US for a while, so this is probably just me.
I think your list is fine. Nice, solid, familiar choices. [name_f]My[/name_f] favourites are [name_m]Simon[/name_m] [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_m]Finnian[/name_m].
I’d probably pair a different middle name with [name_u]Landon[/name_u] just to avoid the alliteration - although it’s not a big issue. [name_u]Landon[/name_u] [name_u]Zeke[/name_u] or [name_u]Landon[/name_u] [name_u]Milo[/name_u] work well.
[name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_u]Clayton[/name_u] sounds good to me, but as I am a U2 fan it makes me think of the band as one band member has the surname [name_m]Evans[/name_m] and another has the surname [name_u]Clayton[/name_u]. Depending on your age I might read it as an homage.
[name_m]Simon[/name_m] [name_m]Luke[/name_m] - a lovely name, harks back to the 90s (which is in again right now). I would probably use [name_m]Simon[/name_m] and [name_m]Luke[/name_m] as firsts and find middles for both - they do seem like two first names in a row to me. I like the name [name_m]Simon[/name_m] especially.
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] - this is a nice, solid and outdoorsy name, I’d personally go [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] but either way works!
[name_u]Landon[/name_u] [name_u]Levi[/name_u] - I don’t love the alliteration myself - but it does make it a cool dude name and the sounds work (ie not a repeat N ending).
[name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_u]Clayton[/name_u] - not loving the repeat syllables plus same ending - I would go [name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_m]Clay[/name_m] or [name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] or another middle name altogether. [name_u]Evan[/name_u] isn’t popular here in Australia - just having a guess but we don’t do the V boy names as much (Evan, [name_m]Travis[/name_m], [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] etc). I think it works better in US context.
[name_u]Aidan[/name_u] [name_u]Zeke[/name_u] - I don’t mind but don’t love either name - I prefer other [name_u]Irish[/name_u] names (eg [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m], [name_m]Ronan[/name_m], [name_m]Cillian[/name_m], [name_m]Patrick[/name_m], [name_u]Tiernan[/name_u] etc) and I don’t love the sound of [name_u]Zeke[/name_u] - there are other zippy Hebrew names I prefer (Asa, [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] etc). I also think [name_u]Zeke[/name_u] overpowers [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] when I think the first name should be the main event/ the name you love most (though I get middles can feel safer to experiment.) I think a softer name like [name_u]Calloway[/name_u] after [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] would be better.
[name_m]Trevor[/name_m] [name_u]Milo[/name_u] - really don’t like either name, hope that doesn’t sound too blunt via the faceless internet - but I see both as slightly ironic pet names, and the sound of Trevor/Trev is unpleasant to me.
So you’ve listed them more or less in order of preference for me!
[name_m]Simon[/name_m] [name_m]Luke[/name_m] - [name_m]Simon[/name_m] is handsome! [name_m]Luke[/name_m] is not my personal favourite, it just feels very dated. But they flow well.
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] - Cool name! I prefer [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] over [name_m]Caleb[/name_m], but overall I like it. Outdoorsy and cozy.
[name_u]Landon[/name_u] [name_u]Levi[/name_u] - Cool guy! I actually like this alliteration. [name_f]My[/name_f] autocorrect tries to fix [name_u]Landon[/name_u] to [name_u]London[/name_u] tho.
[name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_u]Clayton[/name_u] - Perhaps my favourite. I agree that the same ending is not the best, but I like both names, especially [name_u]Clayton[/name_u] (love boy names ending with -ton/-on/ -n). Uuhhh, if it was [name_u]Clayton[/name_u] [name_m]Evander[/name_m], I would swoon!
[name_u]Aidan[/name_u] [name_u]Zeke[/name_u] - [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] feels so dated. It’s giving a middle aged guy wearing a cap. And [name_u]Zeke[/name_u] just doesn’t sound handsome. I’m so sorry!
[name_m]Trevor[/name_m] [name_u]Milo[/name_u] - I sadly have to admit that this is a double pet name to me… The famous toad + a popular dog name. I’m afraid I don’t love the sound of [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] either. I’m so very sorry, I really hope I didn’t offend you! Opinions are so subjective!
Generally, we have a similar taste in middle names and diverge more on the firsts. I like the alliteration in [name_u]Landon[/name_u] [name_u]Levi[/name_u] & almost put it in 3rd spot, but my affection for [name_u]Evan[/name_u] won out!
[name_m]Simon[/name_m] [name_m]Luke[/name_m] - love the name [name_m]Simon[/name_m]. I prefer [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] over [name_m]Luke[/name_m] but I think it works okay for a middle name. 5/10
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] - I like this combo. I think they fit nicely together. 7/10
[name_u]Landon[/name_u] [name_u]Levi[/name_u] - I like the double L in this one! I’m not a huge fan of the names [name_u]Landon[/name_u] or [name_u]Levi[/name_u] because they’re too popular for my taste. but I think they work nicely as a combo. 6/10
[name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_u]Clayton[/name_u] - This one feels a little dated to me. The only Evan’s I know are in their 30s or 40s now. [name_u]Clayton[/name_u] I like. I’d like it more as [name_u]Clayton[/name_u] [name_u]Evan[/name_u]. 4/10
[name_u]Aidan[/name_u] [name_u]Zeke[/name_u] - [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] is also a little too popular for my liking. [name_u]Zeke[/name_u] is a cool name! I like that one a lot. [name_u]Zeke[/name_u] [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] I’d like a lot more. 3/10
[name_m]Trevor[/name_m] [name_u]Milo[/name_u] - I like this combo! I think it sounds cool and isn’t overly trendy or overly dated. 9/10
[name_m]Simon[/name_m] [name_m]Luke[/name_m] – I adore both [name_m]Simon[/name_m] and [name_m]Luke[/name_m]. I’m not 100% on the flow of them together, which is making me sad because they are such great names.
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] – [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] is uber-popular where I live still, but it’s such an awesome name. Maybe in my top ten. I’m not a [name_u]Finn[/name_u]- fan, but I do think [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] sounds strong together.
[name_u]Landon[/name_u] [name_u]Levi[/name_u] – I don’t like the double L, and I just don’t like [name_u]Landon[/name_u]. I can’t wrap my head around it. [name_u]Levi[/name_u] is top-notch though!
[name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_u]Clayton[/name_u] – This is the type of name that is totally not my style but yet I still find amazing. Something about it just really works for me as a combo, although if you asked me about the names separately I’d say [name_u]Evan[/name_u] is fine and [name_u]Clayton[/name_u] is meh. Together I love it.
[name_u]Aidan[/name_u] [name_u]Zeke[/name_u] – I’m over the -ayden trend, but I really love the unexpectedness of [name_u]Zeke[/name_u] with it. Very cool combo!
[name_m]Trevor[/name_m] [name_u]Milo[/name_u] – Not my style. I don’t get the name [name_m]Trevor[/name_m].
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] - best flow, the others are largely all 2-2 syllables with similar emphasis
[name_m]Simon[/name_m] [name_m]Luke[/name_m] - [name_m]Simon[/name_m] is nice, but feels a bit boring with [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and together they feel very Biblical
[name_u]Aidan[/name_u] [name_u]Zeke[/name_u] - bonus points for correct spelling of [name_u]Aidan[/name_u]. [name_u]Zeke[/name_u] feels nicknamey and incomplete to me. [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] would be better IMO
[name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_u]Clayton[/name_u] - [name_u]Evan[/name_u] is fine. Both these names have the same syllables, same emphasis, and same endings. This repetition is displeasing to my ear, personally
[name_u]Landon[/name_u] [name_u]Levi[/name_u] - similar to above: 2-2, same emphasis, both leading Ls. I also don’t see the appeal of [name_u]Landon[/name_u] - I think it’s particularly unattractive-sounding in my accent, which not the name’s fault
[name_m]Trevor[/name_m] [name_u]Milo[/name_u] - I like [name_u]Milo[/name_u], but [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] will forever be [name_m]Neville[/name_m] Longbottom’s toad to me.
Overall, I would mix up some of these names to get some more variety of syllable and emphasis. Pairing short and long names together tends to create good flow and harmonious sounds in my opinion.
