Hey guys! Here’s some names my husband and I like. We’re expecting our first baby in [name_u]March[/name_u]. I’m trying to narrow my names down to 3 each gender. Middle name is [name_f]Sherrie[/name_f] (after my mother). Here they are:
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwyneira[/name_f] ([name_f]Gwen[/name_f]-AY-ruh)
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Cora[/name_f])
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] (3 syllable pronounciation)
[name_f]Stella[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Ella[/name_f] - my husband loves the name [name_f]Ella[/name_f] but I think it’s too common)
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] ( also for [name_f]Cora[/name_f])
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwyneira[/name_f] ( I like [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] as a nn)
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] (to be fair, a lot of my love for this name comes from personal association with [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] Island, which is one of my favorite places with some of my happiest memories. But it’s also just a beautiful name)
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] (especially with the nickname “[name_f]Cora[/name_f]” or “[name_f]Coco[/name_f]”)
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]
Well I don’t really have a clear favorite between 5 and 6 but I put [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] first because I don’t think [name_f]Ella[/name_f] works as a nickname for [name_f]Stella[/name_f]… it’s just getting rid of the consonants at the beginning but it has the same amount of syllables and everything.
[name_f]Gwyneira[/name_f] ~ Absolutely gorgeous. I would be over the moon to meet one. I would have this on my list but I’m just not brave enough/don’t have the heritage for it.
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] ~ Wonderful meaning, strong but feminine, & romantic!
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] ~ Not something I would personally use but strong and elegant.
[name_f]Stella[/name_f] ~ It’s pretty. I like the meaning. [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is wonderful but yes popular. It doesn’t bother me, however.
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] ~ I’ve never been too fond of [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] but I like it better than [name_f]Amelia[/name_f].
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] ~ Never been a fan. Dislike the “MEEL” sound. I do adore [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] which is very similar.
