I would love if people could rank mine and my husband’s top boy name list. I would love to hear your thoughts on the names too!
[name_m]Watson[/name_m] Brigantine*
[name_m]Thatcher[/name_m]
[name_m]Valerian[/name_m]
[name_m]Caspian[/name_m]
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m]
[name_m]Cillian[/name_m] (nickname Kíli)
*Brigantine would be the middle name
[name_m]Watson[/name_m] - 5/10 - Nothing really wrong with it, but just feels far more like a surname to me.
[name_m]Thatcher[/name_m] - 4/10 - Same as [name_m]Watson[/name_m] really, but I can’t shake the association to [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_m]Thatcher[/name_m], although it will probably be totally fine if you don’t live in the UK.
[name_m]Valerian[/name_m] - 6/10 - I like the sound of this one, and like it in theory, although not so sure about how wearable it will be in real life.
[name_m]Caspian[/name_m] - 10/10 - I don’t really know what to say about this one, other than that I adore it!
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m] - 8/10 - Not my style, but it is a very handsome name.
[name_m]Cillian[/name_m] - 9/10 - I really like this one too, and the nickname is very sweet!

I love [name_m]Valerian[/name_m] and nn [name_u]Val[/name_u].
I also love [name_m]Watson[/name_m] Brigantine.
[name_f]My[/name_f] third favorite is [name_m]Caspian[/name_m].
The rest are good too, except I’m not keen on [name_m]Thatcher[/name_m].

[name_m]Watson[/name_m] Brigantine - I’m not a fan of this one, sorry! Both names feel too heavily like surnames to me. I can see the appeal of [name_m]Watson[/name_m], but not Brigantine. I assume it’s an honor name? I like the idea of [name_m]Briggs[/name_m], which I still think could honor Brigantine! [name_m]Watson[/name_m] [name_m]Briggs[/name_m] is cute!
[name_m]Thatcher[/name_m] - [name_m]Thatcher[/name_m] is very cute! I like nn [name_m]Thatch[/name_m]. You may also like [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m]?
[name_m]Valerian[/name_m] - [name_m]Valerian[/name_m] is very cool! I think its very handsome as well.
[name_m]Caspian[/name_m] - one of my absolute favorite names!! Its so handsome and strong, but still soft at the same time!
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m] - [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] is so sweet. It does feel a bit more popular than your other names though!
[name_m]Cillian[/name_m] - another one of my favorites! It’s so handsome. I like both this and the [name_u]Killian[/name_u] spellings. I think nn Kili is cute, it reminds me of The Hobbit!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.
Nice list!
Here is my favorite to least favorite:
Ronan-I really like [name_m]Ronan[/name_m]. It’s one of those names that feels really strong & handsome but also kind of thoughtful & kind. It’s simple & not too popular. [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] is getting more popular, but I don’t think that [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] has quite caught on.
Cillian-This is my nephew’s name, & I love it. It’s really interesting & has just a nice sound. He does get called Silly-in by people sometimes, but they figure it out once corrected. I still much prefer the ‘C’ spelling to [name_u]Killian[/name_u]. That all being said, I’m not a fan of Kili. Sometimes my SIL & BIL call their son, [name_f]Cilly[/name_f] (said like Kili), & I don’t love it for some reason. But I do prefer the spelling of [name_f]Cilly[/name_f]. Especially if [name_m]Cillian[/name_m] has the ‘C’ spelling.
Thatcher-This is just adorable. I picture a little guy playing baseball out in the field of a farmhouse. Really straight forward simple name that grows up well & isn’t at all popular.
Caspian-It’s a cool name. Sometimes I feel like it’s maybe a little bit too…I don’t know what the right word is. Kind of the same way I feel about [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] & [name_u]Scout[/name_u]. I feel like it’s a popular enough character that it feels a little pretentious to use. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband loves this name because of [name_m]Prince[/name_m] [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] though, & he’d think I’m ridiculous for calling it pretentious. I do think that it has a beautiful sound though & cute nns of [name_m]Cas[/name_m] & Caspi.
Watson-It’s not my personal cup of tea, but I can see the appeal. It’s smart & quirky & uncommon but well known.
Valerian-This is the only one that I really don’t care for. It sounds too sci-fi for me.
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.
