So we’ve decided on [name]Leighton[/name] and have several middle names we’re considering. Rank these and give your opinions on them. If you could give me some suggestions that are similar in style to the ones I’ve already chosen that would be great as well! Pronounced [name]Lay[/name]-ton.
[name]Leighton[/name] [name]Faith[/name]
[name]Leighton[/name] [name]Kate[/name]
[name]Leighton[/name] [name]Grace[/name]
[name]Leighton[/name] [name]Nicole[/name]
[name]Leighton[/name] [name]Camille[/name]
[name]Leighton[/name] [name]Isla[/name]
[name]Leighton[/name] [name]Noelle[/name]- my husband likes this A LOT, I don’t care for the name at all, plus I knew a mean girl named [name]Noelle[/name]…
[name]Leighton[/name] [name]Camille[/name] is my favorite from your list. [name]Leighton[/name] [name]Isla[/name] would be a strong second place. Regarding the others- The flow is generally prettier when you vary the vowel sounds. Anything starting with N- runs into [name]Leighton[/name] too much.
[name]Leighton[/name] [name]Camille[/name] - [name]Camille[/name] feels fresh, unexpected and feminine, and I like the flow with the stress on the second syllable
[name]Leighton[/name] [name]Isla[/name] - I don’t generally like [name]Isla[/name] as a first name, but it does sound soft and light next to [name]Leighton[/name] which I like. This is a very pretty combo.
[name]Leighton[/name] [name]Grace[/name] - classic, pretty, short and sweet - I like it a lot. Being a tiny bit fussy though, the “[name]Lay[/name]” and “[name]Gray[/name]” parts rhyme.
[name]Leighton[/name] [name]Noelle[/name] - I don’t like it as much as [name]Camille[/name], but again it has the same great flow. [name]Leighton[/name] [name]Giselle[/name] would work too!
[name]Leighton[/name] [name]Faith[/name] - I like it, and the flows nice, but I prefer the elegance of [name]Grace[/name].
[name]Leighton[/name] [name]Nicole[/name] - not a fan sorry, I feel like [name]Leighton[/name] on it’s own as fine, but teamed with [name]Nicole[/name] it suddenly makes it feel really dated and 80s.
[name]Leighton[/name] [name]Kate[/name] - love [name]Kate[/name], but I’m not sure if the combo sounds a bit harsh. the strong “T” of [name]Leighton[/name] and the strong “K” of [name]Kate[/name] same a bit off together, plus the fact that the first syllable of [name]Leighton[/name] rhymes with [name]Kate[/name]. My least favourite sorry.
I hope that helps!
So for me it’s [name]Leighton[/name] [name]Camille[/name], [name]Leighton[/name] [name]Isla[/name] or [name]Leighton[/name] [name]Grace[/name]
[name]Leighton[/name] [name]Kate[/name] is very nice, as is [name]Leighton[/name] [name]Grace[/name]. [name]Leighton[/name] [name]Noelle[/name] is my favorite.
You may want to consider changing the spelling of the first name if the pronunciation is going to be “[name]Lay[/name]-ton”. Most people will pronounce it “[name]Lee[/name]-ton”, because that’s how it’s spelled. What’s wrong with [name]Layton[/name]? Laiyton? Laiton? Layhton? Something a bit more phonetic to help the rest of the world get it right.
I disagree, [name]Leighton[/name] is the traditional spelling, and [name]LAY[/name]-ton as the most common pronunciation, as another [name]Berry[/name]'s recent poll proved. The vast majority of voters said they would pronounce [name]Leighton[/name] as [name]LAY[/name]-ton.
Why change a spelling to something trendier just to help the minority of people. It’s not that hard to learn how to pronounce the name correctly upon meeting the person. I wouldn’t change the spelling of my name ([name]Laura[/name]) to [name]Lora[/name] just to help people out.
Perhaps it’s different in the US, but here in the UK, [name]Leighton[/name] is a pretty well known name so I think most people would know how to pronounce it straight away, and I’ve never ever heard anyone pronounce it [name]LEE[/name]-ton!
