This is an interesting thing to consider!
Realistically, I probably won’t use any of my combos since I’m planning on adopting, but hypothetically:
From most to least likely
Annabel Prairie - Annabel isn’t too common, and I like all nicknames so it’s practical
Margaret Honey - I love all of Margaret’s nicknames and it’s easy to say
Clementine Pearl
Rosalind Bee
Flora Evelyn
Molly Beatrix - The popularity would realistically stop me from using it
Hallie Juniper - Hallie means “mess” in my first language!
Harvey Maple - I really like Harvey, and while it’s quite popular in the UK it’s not overwhelmingly common
Toby Forrest - Same as above, only Toby is more popular, which is why I’m realistically slightly less likely to use it
Edmund Fox - Nickames Ted, Teddy and Eddy make this a good choice for real use!
Ozzy Theodore - Ozzy is cute and quirky, and though I’m not as in love with it as I used to be I’d still use it in a heartbeat.
Wilbur Fox - I adore Wilbur but it sounds a bit awkward in my accent. I’d still use it though!
Noel Rafferty - I like the no-el pronunciation much more than the nole pronunciation, which unfortunately is the go-to in the UK
I must say [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_u]Fox[/name_u], [name_u]Toby[/name_u] [name_m]Forrest[/name_m], and [name_u]Noel[/name_u] [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] are so majestic! [name_u]Noel[/name_u] [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] in particular, I have a big love for [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] and the combo almost does seem to morph into [name_m]Nole[/name_m] or even [name_u]Nolan[/name_u] even though I know it’s [name_u]Noel[/name_u] which btw is sorely underused on boys
Tied for #1- [name_u]Kahlo[/name_u] [name_f]Azucena[/name_f] [name_f]Adele[/name_f] and [name_f]Amparo[/name_f] [name_f]Olimpia[/name_f] [name_u]Cruz[/name_u], both have super important honors as first names (plus [name_f]Amparo[/name_f] honors my heritage) so they both go #1 for most likely
#2- [name_f]Azula[/name_f] [name_u]Honor[/name_u] [name_f]Soleil[/name_f], I just absolutely adore [name_f]Azula[/name_f], and [name_u]Honor[/name_u] is after my grandma, but while I love it so so much it isn’t as meaningful to me as [name_u]Kahlo[/name_u] or [name_f]Amparo[/name_f]
#3- [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_u]Dean[/name_u], #3 because while I absolutely adore the combo, it doesn’t have any honors and I really would love to honor people I love in my future kids names
#4- [name_f]Hecate[/name_f] Delamira [name_m]Psalm[/name_m], this os #4th even though there’s an honor on it, just because I like [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] slight more than [name_f]Hecate[/name_f]
Boys
#1- [name_m]Osiris[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] [name_u]Reign[/name_u], this without a doubt it my #1 boy name, [name_m]Osiris[/name_m] is after my dad [name_m]Omar[/name_m], [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] is a family name on my moms side, [name_u]Reign[/name_u] I just love so so much, I just love the imagery of this combo and I just love it so much
#2- Zephiro [name_m]Lauritz[/name_m] [name_f]Glory[/name_f], this combo is all for my grandma who I’m very close with. Zephiro is basically a variation of Cefíro which is [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] in Spanish, both me and my grandma love Greek mythology and when I asked her about this name she loved it so it immediately went to the top of the list. [name_f]Glory[/name_f] is again after her, her name is [name_f]Gloria[/name_f].
#3- [name_u]Loki[/name_u] [name_m]Stellan[/name_m] [name_u]Hyacinth[/name_u], [name_u]Loki[/name_u] Laufeysom from [name_u]Marvel[/name_u] is a massive comfort character of mine, beside that he’s such a fun character! [name_m]Stellan[/name_m] is a name I’ve loved for a long time, it just feels so regal but fun. [name_u]Hyacinth[/name_u] I just really liked. All together I just really love it so so much, the imagery of it and together it’s just a very comforting to me
#4- [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_m]Hades[/name_m] [name_f]Wildflower[/name_f], [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] is a nod to my mom who loves this name, she says if she ever had a boy that would’ve been at the top of the lost, [name_m]Hades[/name_m] is for my love of Greek mythology (and mythology in general), [name_f]Wildflower[/name_f] I put because I just liked it, flowers are for boys too
I keep a separate list of names I would actually use, but I think it would be fun to rank my UC, which tends to be names that are sparking joy at the moment but don’t always have staying power.
Much appreciated @Wandarine I appreciate your ranking very much haha don’t worry about reading the prompt wrong, I’ve been known to do that as well.
I have to say, like you, I almost have placed [name_m]Viggo[/name_m] [name_u]Fox[/name_u] in my top spot for the boys several times but I always, always come back to [name_m]Silus[/name_m] [name_m]Laszlo[/name_m] and then [name_m]Alain[/name_m] [name_m]Lysandros[/name_m] comes in second right now only because I deem it as pretty exotic for the area I live in and it just sounds so rich. And then for the girls, [name_f]Isola[/name_f] [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] was once my top favorite as well! [name_f]Isola[/name_f] is such an intriguing gem of a name that I can’t fathom why it isnt seen more frequently.
[name_u]Emerson[/name_u] [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] are genius and for me they’d be perfectly realistic to use on kids. Hopefully you have boys because those names would be shameful to waste
Thank you!!
I think they are realistic, too, definitely! And I love them all pretty equally. I only ranked them at the bottom because neither of them contain honor names, which is important for me in naming my children.
I almost put [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] first, as she’s my favourite at the moment and the middles are so very important to me, but ultimately, I can’t see myself without a daughter named [name_f]Mia[/name_f] <3
1# - Florian Atlas - i love this combo! it’s not my fav fav but i love the imagery of it, and love both names so much. plus they would work perfectly in my country
2# - Indigo Bodhi - i absolutely love this combo but im always doubting it bc of how weird both names would be in my country, índigo could work tho since it’s a word name in spanish but it would still be really weird. and bodhi i loove its meaning, but i think it’d always get confused
3# - Atlas León - love both names! they would great im my country, plus León is an honor name
4# - Atlas Océano - océano would be too weird, plus i’d probably use oceana first :))
5# - Cosmo Zen - i think cosmo is too associated with the fairly oddparents, plus i don’t love it as the other names
6# River Orion - river is absolutely my fave name ever (along with indigo), has a lot of meaning for me and i just love its imagery, but sadly it’s unusable for me. river is the name of a soccer team in my country and it’s just too associated with that
girls:
1# - Salma Rivera - put this one first over oceana vida because i love how salma fits with florian. i don’t quite like florian with oceana. and also because i love this name, i love alma too but this one is way more unique, and rivera is my way of honoring river which i can’t use
2# - Oceana Vida - i loove both names, and love the combo. they would toally work in my country but oceana would be too weird, even tho i’d totally use it, i just doubt that
3# - Alma Rivera: i looove alma so much, it’s a spanish word name that means soul sadly, it’s way too common in my country for my taste and that puts me off a bit
