I know of someone with that name. I think it is pronounced [name]Con[/name]-stan-TEE-na. There may be more creative nns that can be derived from the name, but [name]Connie[/name] and [name]Tina[/name] immediately come to mind.
[name]Constantina[/name] [name]Mae[/name]
[name]Constantina[/name] [name]Iris[/name]
[name]Constantina[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Constantina[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Constantina[/name] [name]Beth[/name]
I think [name]Constantine[/name] is a beautiful name for a girl but if you prefer [name]Constantina[/name] I think it’s nice as well! Obvious nn’s to me are [name]Constance[/name], [name]Connie[/name], [name]Tina[/name], maybe even Stana? For mn I like something traditional like [name]Mae[/name], [name]Louise[/name] or [name]Marie[/name]
I would pronounce it con-stan-tee-nuh. I like it, not love, but I think it is a beautiful sounding name. If [name]Constantina[/name] has family ties too, that’s great.
Nicknames: [name]Connie[/name], [name]Constance[/name], Constantly (for a funny nn), [name]Tina[/name], [name]Toni[/name], Stani, Stana, [name]Stacey[/name], [name]Sonny[/name], [name]Nancy[/name].
For middle names, I think a shorter name would be better. [name]Mae[/name] and [name]Marie[/name] have already been offered and the ‘m’ beginning sounds right with [name]Constantina[/name].
Some other suggestions:
[name]Marley[/name]
[name]Maya[/name]
[name]Mira[/name]
[name]Molly[/name]
[name]Margo[/name]
[name]Macy[/name]
I’m using [name]Constantine[/name] for a boy, and I prefer it on a boy, but I don’t mind [name]Constantina[/name]. It’s pronounced con-stan-teen-uh. For nicknames – [name]Connie[/name], [name]Constance[/name], [name]Tina[/name], Tanie, …anything anyone else has said I suppose.
[name]Love[/name] [name]Constantina[/name] — it’s been a guilty pleasure of mine since discovering it while researching my family history (my 8th great grand aunt was born 1701 in an early Dutch settlement in the US). It’s lovely and I’ve had it paired with her older sister’s name (my 8th great grandmother’s name) - [name]Diana[/name] [name]Constantina[/name]. It’s very lovely.
I actually like [name]Connie[/name] as a nickname, but I’ve asked about [name]Constantina[/name], nn [name]Connie[/name] on nameberry before and “[name]Connie[/name]” wasn’t too well-received at the time. But I can definitely see it coming back.
[name]Love[/name] both [name]Constantine[/name] and [name]Constantina[/name]! Beautiful, striking names. Not made up and full of history.
[name]Constantina[/name] is the name of one of my third cousin’s daughters. She was born in the 80s. When I first heard her name, I was stunned by what a cool and unusual name it was. I like it a lot! She lives out of state and I’ve never met her. I’ve only seen her referred to as [name]Constantina[/name] (no nickname), and she uses no nickname on Facebook either.
[name]Tansy[/name] would be a cute nickname!
I’d pronounce it con-stan-TEE-na (like concertina)
You seem to be very knowledgeable when it comes to Greek names and modern times.
What do you think of ‘[name]Kostantina[/name]’? Its like [name]Kosta[/name], and since there is no ‘C’ in the Greek alphabet K would be a more appropriate spelling for this name.
I agree that the K makes it more authentic. [name]Kostantina[/name] is a different name, which I still like, but I think a lot of people will assume you mean Konstantina. If you did, than it’s still beautiful. If not, I still like [name]Kostantina[/name] but feel it might be a little confusing for people.
With or without the K, I still think it’s both are beautiful and distinct names that I would love to see used. I think a lot of other people will think you’re trying to be trendy with the K because I think a lot of people assume that the C is the traditional spelling.
So in other words, if you’re going for authentic, use the K, and if you’re going for a modern update, use the C. Either way, the name is beautiful
My grandmother is a Konstantina (she’s Greek - I do prefer the [name]Constantina[/name] spelling) and goes by [name]Connie[/name]. [name]Tina[/name] is an option too, although I prefer [name]Connie[/name]. I have a little cousin named [name]Connie[/name] (after her) and I don’t think she’s ever liked her name. I pronounce is con-stan-TEE-nuh.
[name]IMO[/name] it would work better as a middle name. Good luck!
