Wanted to get some opinions on these 5 names.
Voted.
I love [name_f]Lola[/name_f] and [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]!
I love all of these so much… im not sure on the Eliya pronounciation
I voted Sophia and Ophelia because those are the ones that I like the most as a first full name and I think they could work as sisters
Ella and Lola are also stunning but I see them more as nn
I hate to say it, but as cute as [name_f]Lola[/name_f] is, it’s one of those names that I just can’t separate from the character. And - unlike [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] or [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] - it has negative connotations. Full disclosure: I briefly used [name_f]Lola[/name_f] as a fake internet name in high school before I’d read the book, and I got a lot of really weird & creepy messages about it. I love [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], though! (I know it’s also the name of a famous character. But people still use [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], so.) And [name_f]Ella[/name_f] & [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] are both adorable. I don’t have any opinion on [name_u]Eliya[/name_u] either way, though.
How much ever I love the sound of [name_u]Eliya[/name_u], the spelling throws me off. Ella’s cute, simple and nice! Ophelia’s another wonderful name but I’ve never been a fan of it.
I was thinking “Ell-ee-ah”
I voted for [name_f]Lola[/name_f] & [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] (both absolutely stunning!), but [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] is a close third! I also love [name_u]Elia[/name_u], but spelt this way
@heyitsmaisie I’m curious what character you’re referring to? A few different characters come to mind, so I was just wondering!
@regionlatbest [name_f]Dolores[/name_f] ‘Lola’ [name_u]Haze[/name_u], the titular character in [name_f]Lolita[/name_f]. But honestly— maybe it’s just my own experience coloring things and no one else will have the same reaction to it as I do. Like I said, I briefly used [name_f]Lola[/name_f] as an online alias in high school, and I was a dumb teenager on websites I definitely should not have been on, and 30 year old men were really weird about it. So I kind of instinctively cringe whenever I hear/read it. Again, though, your mileage may vary! If you couldn’t guess the character, maybe the connotations are less wide spread than I assumed.
[name_u]Eliya[/name_u].
ah, okay!! It crossed my mind when I read you saying how negative the association was. I’ve only seen people associate the name [name_f]Lolita[/name_f] with it, rather than just [name_f]Lola[/name_f]. I could see how your experiences tainted the name for you (I’m sorry you had some negative experiences, by the way!). I really love the name [name_f]Lola[/name_f], so I appreciate seeing this side of opinion, it helps me decide whether I’d ever actually want to use it! While there are a lot of associations with the name, my main one is [name_f]Lola[/name_f] from the Broadway musical Kinky Boots, and I love that connection. I may need to keep [name_f]Lola[/name_f] as just a nickname though, I don’t want to use a name that many people have that negative of an association with!
(Also, I love your name!)
[name_u]Eliya[/name_u] is nice but not my personal favorite.
I love love love [name_f]Ella[/name_f]!
Once again [name_f]Lola[/name_f] is nice but not for me.
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is stunning!
[name_f]Sophia[/name_f] is very cute but too popular and in my expiriences, I know a lot.
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f] got my vote
