[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all!
Any opinions on my below list, or any further suggestions, would be massively appreciated! Look forward to hearing them…
Naming style: classic, internationally-influenced and uber-boho/hippy!
My current top 4 as it stands:
Guto [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m] - Guto is meant to be pronounced GI-taw in Welsh but I would pronounce it the English way, Git-oh
[name_m]Owain[/name_m] [name_u]Joss[/name_u] - I love [name_u]Joss[/name_u], but I would worry it would get mixed up with [name_m]Josh[/name_m] (which I dislike, just because of the popularity!) as a FN. I’m not sure how well [name_m]Owain[/name_m] (Ow-ein) would go down outside of [name_m]Wales[/name_m]…
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] - Does this sound too much like an adult actress?! I love [name_f]Eve[/name_f] as a MN too much to remove from my list!
[name_f]Effy[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] - I love how made-up-but-not-made-up [name_f]Effy[/name_f] sounds and I love the way a modern FN and a classic/old fashioned MN come together here
[name_m]Lucas[/name_m] and [name_m]Nash[/name_m] and [name_f]Annika[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f] are the next in line!
All names have to pass the Dad-test! Nothing too ‘American’ or crazily out-there. Names like [name_u]Finley[/name_u], [name_f]Willow[/name_f], etc. wouldn’t make it past my dad! I love super unusual names that sound beautiful when said and look sparkly when written down. Some examples I have seen: [name_m]Rowdy[/name_m], [name_u]Dusty[/name_u], [name_f]Bambi[/name_f], [name_f]Briar[/name_f] etc.
Also- I love a good monosyllabic MN as much as the next person!
I love my name ([name_f]Harriet[/name_f]), and so I would love to find a name that a child would grow up being happy they had!
