[name_f]My[/name_f] significant other and I are TTC. I’m hoping that this month will be the one
We have a boy’s name picked out ([name_u]Archer[/name_u] [name_m]Jacob[/name_m]), but still thinking about a girl’s name.
We are hoping to find a name that we both like.
We came up with a list of 8 of our favorites: (in alphabetical order)
Eva, [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] are stunning! I love [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] for [name_u]Archer[/name_u]’s sister. [name_f]Jane[/name_f] sounds refreshing as a first name, nowadays. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Eva[/name_f] are timeless and beautiful.
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] would be stunning and adventurous! [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] would be beautiful too.
Archer [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] is great! Here are my thoughts on the girls: (in order of favorite to least favorite.)
Lucy-This name is just impossible to say w/out a smile. It’s friendly, feminine but not frilly, classic, simple, a bit popular, but not too terrible.
Rose-Such a stunning classic w/beautiful imagery. And then the nn [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] is light & sweet.
Molly-I kind of like it for a nn, but it’s good on its own too. Friendly, old fashioned, kind of soft but kind of sporty. Simple but not over done.
Elsie-This would probably be higher on the list, but for some reason it seems even more nick-namey than [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] & [name_f]Molly[/name_f] to me. I do think it’s adorable & vintage though. I just kind of like [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] or [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] nn [name_f]Elsie[/name_f].
Sophie-Very sweet & lovable name. Super over done though. Mainly if you add in all of the Sophias.
Eva-I like it. I like just [name_f]Eve[/name_f] better. Not sure why this one doesn’t sparkle for me. Mostly every little girl I meet is some sort of ‘Ev’ name. Usually [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]. Either that or some sort of ‘[name_m]Ad[/name_m]’ name.
Jane-Totally fine, just doesn’t do much for me. I suppose that the nn [name_f]Janie[/name_f] is kind of cute.
Zelda-I want to like it, because it’s kind of the most interesting on your list. I just find it a bit heavy for some reason. I like [name_f]Zella[/name_f]. It seems sleeker.
I love [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], and [name_f]Rose[/name_f]! [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] are sweet but not my style, and I don’t love [name_f]Molly[/name_f] or [name_f]Zelda[/name_f].
Elsie 8/10
[name_f]Eva[/name_f] 8/10 I can see myself as an [name_f]Eva[/name_f]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f] 6/10
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] 8/10
[name_f]Molly[/name_f] 6/10
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] 8/10
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] 7/10
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f] 7/10
My favorites are [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. The name I most see on myself and would like to have is [name_f]Eva[/name_f].
Zelda! I’m so in love with this name. It feels like such a spunky sister for [name_u]Archer[/name_u]. I’m 10.5 weeks pregnant right now and would absolutely name my girl [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] if DH was on board. Other then [name_f]Zelda[/name_f], I also really like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]. [name_f]May[/name_f] I suggest [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f], NN [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]? [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f] and [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] have a similar magical feel to me. Best wishes for your TTC journey!!
I’m already a [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] so I wouldn’t mind [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] as a name but if I had to choose a name from here I would love to be a [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]! All these names are honestly beautiful and useable!
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f]-7/10
[name_f]Eva[/name_f]-5/10
[name_f]Jane[/name_f]-7/10
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]-9/10
[name_f]Molly[/name_f]-7/10
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]-8/10
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]-7/10
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f]-6/10
Of these, my favorites are obviously [name_f]Rose[/name_f] & [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], but I really love nearly all of them! [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] list.
Elsie. 1 - adore it!
[name_f]Eva[/name_f]. 5. A nothing wrong w this
[name_f]Jane[/name_f]. 7 - like as a middle name
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. - 2
[name_f]Molly[/name_f]- 3
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]- 4
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]. 6 - adorable but too popular
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f]. 8. - sounds like a video game character
Top picks:
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f]
My favourite is absolutely [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] (magical and wearable, with a little vintage flair), but I think [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] is delightful as well. I also really like [name_f]Jane[/name_f] - I like how it’s recovering from its ‘plain old lady’ vibes, because I think it’s really cute.
The others are sweet as well, but they’re all names for which I have multiple bearers in my year at school, meaning they were very used sixteen years ago in [name_f]England[/name_f].
(two Evas, three Lucys, three Mollys, three ‘just’ Roses, but ten ‘[name_f]Rose[/name_f] names’, four Sophies).
I’m not good at rating, but I would rank them ~
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Molly[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
I’d like to be called [name_f]Jane[/name_f] (only if surname is at least 3 syllables, otherwise I find it a bit harsh), [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] or [name_f]Sophie[/name_f].
Ratings:
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] - 7
[name_f]Eva[/name_f] - 5
[name_f]Jane[/name_f] - 8
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] - 9
[name_f]Molly[/name_f] 8
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] - 8
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] 8
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f] - 6
My top three from your list are [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. they’re short, classic, smooth and gorgeous.
My second favorites are [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and [name_f]Zelda[/name_f]. [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] is sweet and vintage, [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] is common but beautiful, and [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] is cute and spunky!
My least favorites are [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_f]Molly[/name_f]. [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is a nice classic but plain to me. unfortunately for [name_f]Molly[/name_f] I can’t untie it from the drug or from the [name_f]Mollie[/name_f] Tibbetts case (I don’t think most people would make this association, I just happen to).
Elsie 12/10: (yes, you read that right). This is my all-time favorite girls name, so it gets a high rating!
[name_f]Eva[/name_f] 6/10: Personally, not my favorite, but still would be beautiful on a little girl!
[name_f]Jane[/name_f] 9/10: I love [name_f]Jane[/name_f] so much. I feel like it’s most commonly used as a middle name, but it is so underrated as a first!
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] 6/10: Along with [name_f]Eva[/name_f], personally not my style, but [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] ages so well, which is what I love in names.
[name_f]Molly[/name_f] 7/10: So sweet! Again, ages well.
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] 10/10: Like [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is so underrated as a first name! I love it so much!
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] 9/10: Much prefer [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] to [name_f]Sophia[/name_f].
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f] 6/10: I actually like it. Not enough to use it, but I like how very unique it is!
If I had to choose a few of them, [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] would be them. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!
