I thought of this when I saw the name [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f]. I immidiately thought it came from [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f], so I wondered what other names I could change from “a” to “ie.” I tried it with [name_f]Idalia[/name_f].
My scale:
0- Worst name!
3- Not a fan but not awful.
5- Average/Neutral
7- Amazing
10- Best name!
Alethea - I like it, I read it as [name_f]Athena[/name_f] at first though. 7.5/10
[name_f]Zora[/name_f] - It’s not my favourite out of the ‘ora’ names but it’s fine. 5/10
Adea - I would have definitely pronounced this wrong, oops. - 6/10
[name_f]Idalie[/name_f] - I read it as [name_f]Italy[/name_f], I must have pronunciation issues. - 6/10
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] - I LOVE it (like 7 or 8/10) pronounced Suez-[name_u]Anne[/name_u]-[name_m]Ah[/name_m], but not this pronounciation. - 3/10
[name_f]Enid[/name_f] - I prefer Eh-nid. - 5/10
[name_u]Vega[/name_u] - Not a fan, personally. - 2/10
[name_f]Alethea[/name_f] - 4/10– though I know it isn’t, it’s always looked made up to me. Zora - 7/10, feels literary and classic to me because of [name_f]Zora[/name_f] [name_u]Neale[/name_u] Hurston
Adea - 6/10– not my usual style but it’s been growing on me lately Raya - 9/10 Idalie - 3/10 — all I hear is “[name_f]Italy[/name_f]” Susana - 4/10– I prefer the spelling [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] or [name_f]Susannah[/name_f], [name_f]Susana[/name_f] just doesn’t look complete to me Enid - 1/10, sorry but I just really never liked this one, doesn’t feel usable these days Vega - 6/10– I like the astral meaning though the sound is so so to me. I prefer the similar [name_f]Vesta[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Enid[/name_f], [name_f]Zora[/name_f], and [name_f]Alethea[/name_f].
[name_u]Vega[/name_u] makes me think of [name_f]Vegas[/name_f] or Vagina.
I want to say [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] for [name_f]Susana[/name_f], and uh-DEE-uh for Adea (to rhyme with [name_f]Medea[/name_f]).
