[name_u]Porter[/name_u], [name_u]Parker[/name_u], [name_u]Mercer[/name_u], and [name_m]Wilder[/name_m]
Not sure I am daring enough to use [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] as a first name but I love it and it honors family.

I like [name_u]Mercer[/name_u], and I’ve always kind of liked [name_u]Parker[/name_u]. I see some appeal in [name_m]Wilder[/name_m], but it’s overall a little…wilder than would be my style. I don’t like [name_u]Porter[/name_u] at all - it’s too closely associated with bellhops and doormen. On a 1 to 10 scale, I’d give the following: [name_u]Mercer[/name_u] 8, [name_u]Parker[/name_u] 7, [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] 7, and [name_u]Porter[/name_u] 2.
Not really my style of names, but this is the order I like them in
Honestly, I’d put [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] first because at least [name_m]Wil[/name_m] would be an option as a nickname. I don’t like any of the others really. [name_u]Mercer[/name_u] is okay, but it’s soooo much a surname to me that it’s like naming a kid [name_m]Smith[/name_m]. [name_u]Porter[/name_u] and [name_u]Parker[/name_u] feel like half-surnames half-servants—“go park my car and bring in my bags while you’re at it!”
1 [name_u]Mercer[/name_u] - the more unusual choice
2 [name_u]Porter[/name_u] - sounds distinguished
3 [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] - better in the middle spot
I dislike [name_u]Parker[/name_u] (park her?). It’s one of my least favourite occupational names.

Sorry about the double post. Nameberry is being very uncooperative today so I couldn’t edit and delete the second one.
Namberry is being super clunky today! [name_f]Hope[/name_f] they work it out soon. I think I could get behind [name_f]Merced[/name_f] more than [name_u]Mercer[/name_u]. [name_f]Merced[/name_f] is a beautiful river in [name_m]Yosemite[/name_m], and sounds more like a name to me than [name_u]Mercer[/name_u]
Thank you all. kala_way, I will have to search [name_f]Merced[/name_f]. [name_m]Yosemite[/name_m] is such a gorgeous area. My parents wish to have their ashes scattered either somewhere in [name_m]Yosemite[/name_m] [name_m]Park[/name_m] or near the Grand Tetons. I personally prefer [name_u]Mercer[/name_u] for a name, I like that it is close to mercy.
Yes, Nameberry, at least the forums, are very slow for me.
[name_u]Parker[/name_u] is my favorite. Second place goes to [name_u]Porter[/name_u]. Third place goes to [name_m]Wilder[/name_m]. [name_u]Mercer[/name_u] I just dislike the sound and look of. Maybe the double r sounds in a name do not appeal to me.
In order of preference:
Thank you everyone.
