[name_u]Alexis[/name_u] - Another nice name 5/10
[name_f]Kirra[/name_f] (rhymes with mirror) - I prefer [name_f]Kira[/name_f] (7/!0), but this spelling gets 4/10

[name_f]Hallie[/name_f] - hallie is sweet not my personal style but i can see the appeal. i do struggle to picture a grown woman called hallie though as it has quite a cutesy sound.

[name_f]Margot[/name_f] - my favourite name ever! so much ao i chose it as my nameberry name.

[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] - imogen is okay, i know quite a few imogens as it is popular here in england so it feels a little bit overdone to me but i like the literary connection to shakespeare.

[name_f]Isobel[/name_f] / [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] i much much prefer isobel or isabel although once again it is popular where i live so i don’t absolutely love it but it is a nice name that definitely works on all ages.

[name_f]Olive[/name_f] - i’m not the biggest fan of olive, i love vintage names usually but olive has never hugely appealed to me. definitely a great alternative to olivia though:))

[name_f]Poppy[/name_f] - again, very popular where i live i feel like every little girl i know is called poppy haha but i do actually quite like it it’s got a sweet spark to it!

[name_f]Sienna[/name_f] - not my style but it gives off a very trendy, cool vibe that i really like!

[name_f]Tilly[/name_f] - i prefer the tillie spelling, it’s okay but i prefer matilda/mathilda as a full name.

[name_u]Willow[/name_u] - i’ve always really loved willow it’s beautiful.

[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] - LOVE eloise, it’s so elegant and definitely works on all ages.

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] / Lucille/ [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] (which one?) - i like the classic lucy although lucille is very cool too.

[name_u]Alexis[/name_u] - i’m not a big fan of alexis/alexa etc they feel a little bit dated to me? nothing objectively wrong with it though but it’s not really my style.

[name_f]Kirra[/name_f] (rhymes with mirror) - mirror probably sounds different in my accent than yours so i’m probably not saying kirra correctly. i think it would be confused with keira/kiera/kira but it’s quite cool i like the double ‘r’ :))

No, not like [name_f]Kiera[/name_f]. [name_f]Kirra[/name_f] is two syllables and has a short ‘i’ sound as in river. And [name_f]Kira[/name_f] to me has a long ‘i’ as in sky.
Thank you for your opinion on the rest of the names

[name_f]Hallie[/name_f] 8/10

[name_f]Hallie[/name_f] - 5/10 - Not awful but has always felt like a nickname to me instead of a full name.

[name_f]Margot[/name_f] - 5/10 - I prefer the [name_f]Margo[/name_f] spelling instead of with the T on the end. Not a bad name though!

[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] - 6/10 - This is a fun name! Not overly used but not super complicated.

[name_f]Isabella[/name_f] - 4/10 - I prefer [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] to [name_f]Isobel[/name_f]. I feel like [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Bella[/name_f] are WAY overused right now. I know so many little Bella’s right now.

[name_f]Olive[/name_f] - 6/10 - Fun name! I like [name_f]Olive[/name_f] much more than the similar [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]. Spunky and cute.

[name_f]Poppy[/name_f] - 6/10 - Also a fun name! Feels fresh and modern.

[name_f]Sienna[/name_f] - 6/10 - I like this one. I feel like people will be familiar with it but it isn’t overused.

[name_f]Tilly[/name_f] - 2/10 - This feels like a nickname to me. I’d like it as a nickname but not as a full name.

[name_u]Willow[/name_u] - 6/10- I like this one. I do worry about [name_u]Willow[/name_u] getting more popular, but I think it’s a fun and pretty name.

[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] - 6/10 - I think it’s a cute name. I can’t really picture it on an adult. But I like it for a baby and a child.

[name_f]Lucille[/name_f] - 6/10 - [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] is my favorite with the option for [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] as a nickname. I think it’s a pretty name and flows very nicely.

[name_u]Alexis[/name_u] - 6/10 - [name_f]Pretty[/name_f] name! Cute nickname options.

[name_f]Kirra[/name_f] - 2/10 - This would be complicated to spell and pronounce. A child would have to constantly tell others how to say it which would get old fast.

We have a very similar style, so I love a lot of these!!

[name_u]Love[/name_u]:
[name_f]Hallie[/name_f] - so sweet and cheery! It always make me feel happy when I hear it. I also like that it’s short and nicknamey but feels complete on its own. I imagine such a happy, bright person when I hear this name!

[name_f]Margot[/name_f] - this is one of my favorite names ever! It has charm and elegance without feeling stuffy or frilly. Its timeless but feels fresh and its sophisticated and intelligent but also spunky. I love that it’s a shorter name but it doesn’t compromise on its classic qualities. I could see it working on a lot of different kinds of people!

[name_f]Olive[/name_f] - another absolute favorite of mine! Sweet and spunky. It’s adorable on a little girl but ages well and feels mature on a teen or adult. I like that it’s quirky but not “out there.” I also like that it’s a color name but not obviously so.

[name_u]Willow[/name_u] - this list is just full of my favorites! What I absolutely love about [name_u]Willow[/name_u] is its soft strength. It reminds me of the tree - gentle but very grounded. I imagine a kind-hearted but strong-willed person, who is giving but firm. It also visually is very balanced, which I love.

[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] - another one that just makes me smile! [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] just feels like the perfect name for someone who is bubbly and full of life. Sweet, but mostly sassy! I’m sure this is influenced partly by the movie character and partly by a little girl I know with this name. But it suits her personality so well! She’s charming and funny but definitely a little firecracker. [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] fits perfectly!

Like:
[name_f]Isabella[/name_f] - I used to love this name but it’s very common, so its loss a little bit of its appeal to me. I’m also not a big fan of the nickname [name_f]Bella[/name_f]. The nickname [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] is a nice sassy alternative, but overall the name is a bit too frilly for my taste. It’s very beautiful though - fit for a princess!

[name_f]Tilly[/name_f] - [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] is so cute! I especially love the [name_f]Tillie[/name_f] spelling. On its own though it just doesn’t feel complete. It’s lovely as a nickname for [name_f]Matilda[/name_f].

[name_f]Sienna[/name_f] - This is quite pretty! There’s something about it though - I always want to like it more than I do. I feel like it’s missing something. Perhaps it just sounds a little too modern, or maybe it’s because it reminds me of [name_u]Sierra[/name_u], which is a name I really don’t care for. I think I like it slightly better spelled [name_f]Siena[/name_f], like the city. I do love that it’s another subtle color name!

[name_f]Lucia[/name_f] - this is another I want to like more than I do. I think it’s the multiple pronunciations that throw me! I’m Italian, but I like the “loo-SEE-ah” pronunciation much better than the “loo-CHEE-ah” one. Overall though this is one also gives me princess vibes. I like that is has the same feminine appeal as [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] but is much shorter.

[name_f]Lucille[/name_f] - there’s something about this name that has an old world charm to it! It’s definitely very old-fashioned/vintage, but in a trendy way, like [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] or [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]. It’s not my first choice for a Lucy-derived name (Lucia is), but I think on the right person, [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] is a name that would absolutely shine!

Neutral:
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] - I love the look of this one, but don’t love the sound. I don’t have strong feelings about it either way, but I think it has a quirky, fun element to it. Its intelligent but not boastful, and I could it see it working well on any age!

[name_f]Isobel[/name_f] - I slightly prefer [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] or [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]. [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] just feels incomplete to me. I think it’s a lovely choice though.

[name_f]Poppy[/name_f] - this one is very cute! It feels a little nicknamey to me, without any obvious long form. I’ve seen it used for [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], which I like, but it feels like a bit of a stretch though, and I’m not a fan of the other full name suggestions I’ve seen. It also makes me think of the poppy plant, which is certainly not a positive association.

NMS:
[name_u]Alexis[/name_u] - I’m just not a big fan of the sound of this name. I also don’t really care for [name_f]Alexa[/name_f]. I’m just not a big fan of the “lex” sound, especially in girl names. I do like [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] and/or [name_u]Alex[/name_u], but there’s something about [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] that just isn’t my style.

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] - another cute choice, but to me it doesn’t age well. I can only see [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] working on a young girl. I also tend to prefer longer versions of the name, like [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], [name_f]Lucille[/name_f], or [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f], to [name_f]Lucy[/name_f].

[name_f]Kirra[/name_f] - I don’t really care for this one. I’m honestly just not keen on many K names. Also, I know you wrote the pronunciation, but I’m still confused, as mirror for me has a weird sound on the end of it due to the r, whereas [name_f]Kirra[/name_f] ends in an a. I think I may be more open to it if I was confident how to pronounce it, but overall it’s just not for me. I do like [name_f]Kiera[/name_f] though!

nice list !

opinions
  • hallie is cute, not my favorite name ever, but i think it would be a nice choice for a little girl. it’s kind of in that sweet spot between popular and completely unique—people have heard it, but there won’t be three in her kindergarten class!
  • i actually love margot  such a pretty, modern choice, and i think it ages very well! and a lovely sound, too.
  • i also love imogen, not quite as much as margot, but i’d be delighted to meet a little girl with the name! nicknames immy and ginny are cute too :relaxed:
  • i prefer isobel! and though both names are quite popular, i do have a bit of a sweet spot for isobel/isabella, and i don’t think you should let popularity stop you from using a name if you really love it.
  • i quite like olive, especially with olivia’s popularity! it’s the type of vintage that you like to see in a name, and is very wearable.
  • poppy is nice, though it is a bit ‘nicknamey’, and there are other flower names i prefer. a pretty name nonetheless.
  • sienna is nice, just not quite my style. i will say, though, it has a pleasing sound, and wouldn’t be a bad choice today.
  • tilly is cute! personally, i prefer it as a nickname for matilda, but i actually think it would make a nice standalone.
  • out of all the names in this set, i’d say willow would be one of my favorites! such a gorgeous sound, and overall, a gorgeous name. i’d be delighted to meet a willow :two_hearts:
  • along with willow, eloise would also have to be one of my absolute favorites. a very pretty sound (it’s kind of fun to just say ) and it definitely classifies as one of those stylish vintage names everyone seems to adore. eloise is lovely
  • lucille ‘lucy’ is my favorite, and i love lucy! (not trying to reference the show, of course.) it matches the stylish vintage vibes i was getting from eloise, and it’s also quite hard to go wrong with.
  • i like alexis, those i must say i prefer alexandra or alexa—then again, though, if alexis is your favorite name ever, don’t let my opinion stop you! i think it’s a decent choice for a little girl today, and also falls into that sweet spot between popular and unique.
  • and finally, kirra! though i prefer kiera (it looks more… put together? i’m not sure) i actually quite like the sound of kirra. also not a bad choice.

i hope that helps a bit

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

Here are my thoughts-

Hallie-I’m torn on this. I like the sound a lot, but I like the way [name_u]Haley[/name_u] looks. But I think that’s technically pronounced Hay-lee. Which I like too, but spelled [name_f]Hayley[/name_f]. So, I guess in theory, I like the sound but not the look. Not sure why, really.

Margot-This is fine, but it doesn’t do much for me. I feel like I hear it a ton, & it’s just a little heavy in my opinion.

Imogen-I like this in theory more than the sound, but it’s still a neat name. [name_u]Love[/name_u] love love the nn [name_f]Idgie[/name_f].

Isobel/Isabella-Ooh, I like both. [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] is sleeker. [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] is a bit more frilly, but also just romantic. I think I like [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] more. And it has the nn of [name_f]Bella[/name_f]. [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] nn [name_f]Belle[/name_f] doesn’t feel as natural, since it’s [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] & not [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]. But I like [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] more.

Olive-Love it! One of my favorites. It feels peaceful & kind of quirky at the same time. It’s simple & botanical & vintage. I love the nn [name_f]Livy[/name_f], but can’t get into [name_f]Liv[/name_f].

Poppy-I don’t know. I’m okay w/it as a nn for [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] or a mn. It’s just too cutesy on its own.

Sienna-I don’t mind this name, but I think it’s just too modern sounding or something.

Tilly-Not a huge fan of this. I prefer [name_f]Millie[/name_f] or [name_f]Lilie[/name_f]. I’d at least do this as a nn. [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is the most obvious, but if you don’t like that maybe [name_f]Tallula[/name_f] or [name_f]Millicent[/name_f]? [name_f]Do[/name_f] those work?

Willow-I don’t know why I don’t like this. I think it has the same issue as [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] in that it sounds a bit too modern & kind of trendy. But it has a pretty sound & is a cool tree, so those are good qualities. I like [name_f]Willa[/name_f] more, because it feels more classic.

Eloise-Super cute & lovable.

Lucy/Lucille/Lucia-Lucille nn [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]!

Alexis-Meh, not a fan of that. It just feels kind of 90s and kind of snobby.

Kirra-This spelling looks off. I’m not super into [name_f]Kira[/name_f], but I don’t mind it. Would definitely spell it that way.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

[name_f]Hallie[/name_f] — I like [name_f]Hallie[/name_f]! It seems familiar, with its connections to [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] and [name_u]Holly[/name_u], but at the same time doesn’t feel very popular.
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] — I’ve never liked [name_f]Margot[/name_f], sorry. I see why other people do, it’s just not for me.
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] — I love [name_f]Imogen[/name_f]! I used to be neutral on it, but then I read a book and one of the characters was named [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], and hearing it so many times in the book made it completely grow on me! I think it’s a great balance between spunky and sweet. It is easy to pronounce and spell and feels unique, in a good way. I know a lot of people say it’s really common where they live, but it is really unique here! Not many people have even heard it.
[name_f]Isobel[/name_f] / [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] — I personally prefer [name_f]Isobel[/name_f], with the Iz-oh-bell pronunciation. They are both nice names (I don’t personally love them, but I see why other people do) but [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] forms are very, very common. That is definitely not a reason to give up on a name, but definitely something that should be considered! I think I know seven Isabel/Isabelle/Isabellas.
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] — [name_f]Olive[/name_f] is all right. I prefer it as a nickname for [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]. Again, I don’t love it but I completely see why other people do!
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f] — [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] feels very cutesy to me. I think it’s okay as a nickname for [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], Poplar, or something else, but I just can’t see it as a full name, especially on an adult.
[name_f]Sienna[/name_f] — [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] is pretty! It’s a color name without being a “color name.” I personally like [name_u]Sierra[/name_u] just a bit more, but it’s a lovely name!
[name_f]Tilly[/name_f] — Again, I can’t see this one as a full name. I love it as a nickname for [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f], etc. but I just can’t see it as a full name.
[name_u]Willow[/name_u] — I love [name_u]Willow[/name_u]! It’s so delicate and lovely, but also strong and sturdy, like the tree! I love the imagery that comes with it! I like the sound of [name_f]Willa[/name_f] a touch more, but I just adore Willow’s imagery.
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] — [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is really sweet! It’s cute on a girl but still refined in an adult, which is not easy to find. There are a lot of great nickname possibilities, and it sounds really nice spoken aloud and looks great on paper!
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] / Lucille/ [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] — For me, [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] > [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] > [name_f]Lucille[/name_f], but I like all of them. However, I only like the Loo-see-uh pronunciation of [name_f]Lucia[/name_f]. They all have different imagery, but all are great! [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] seems really sweet and reminds me of [name_u]Saint[/name_u] [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] and the festival (which isn’t celebrated in my country, but I love studying it anyway.) It brings to mind snow and candles and family. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] feels a bit more youthful, and does remind me a little of [name_f]Narnia[/name_f]. It’s sweet, but spirited, simple, but still lovely! [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] does feel a bit older to me, and also more “dark academia.” It feels like a name from a novel. Sorry, this got long, but you gave me three names to rate!
[name_u]Alexis[/name_u] — [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] is a name that I personally wouldn’t choose, but I still like it! It’s somewhere between spunky and elegant, which is a good place to be!
[name_f]Kirra[/name_f] — I know it isn’t, but my first thought if I didn’t know better would be that it is a variant of Kira/Kiera/Keira. It’s a nice name, definitely full of life while not being overdone. Like [name_u]Alexis[/name_u], I’m neutral-ish on it, but it’s a nice name.

Thank you for all of that! [name_m]Just[/name_m] out of curiosity where are you from?
Also, I was wondering, what other pronunciations of [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] are there? I’ve only heard it pronounced Iz-Oh-Bell

I live up north in the United States. I’m pretty sure some people pronounce [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] like [name_f]Isabel[/name_f], iz-uh-bel. I’m not entirely sure, but I’m fairly certain I met someone who pronounced it that way once, a while back.
