[name_m]How[/name_m] does everyone feel about [name_u]Ray[/name_u] for a baby boy?
I misheard someone calling their son [name_u]Rafe[/name_u] (which I also love!) as this recently and have been mulling it over ever since. I feel like it’s bright, sunny and happy but also has a sort of laid-back, cool jazz vibe.
Weirdly, I’m not really a fan at all of [name_m]Raymond[/name_m], so it would be “just” [name_u]Ray[/name_u].
[name_u]Rafe[/name_u] is usually short for [name_m]Rafael[/name_m], but it’s cute either way. I’m not a fan of [name_u]Ray[/name_u] or [name_m]Raymond[/name_m] personally.
I have a family member with this name (nn for [name_m]Raymond[/name_m], though) that affects how I see it … but putting that aside, I do rather like it! [name_u]Rey[/name_u] from [name_f]Star[/name_f] Wars adds a positive association, too.
I really like [name_u]Rafe[/name_u]! [name_u]Ray[/name_u] I automatically think of [name_m]Raymond[/name_m]. It’s not a bad name, but I don’t immediately think of the nature/unusual connection to like a ray of sunshine.
I like it! It has a nice sound - somewhere between soft and strong.
I taught a kid called [name_u]Ray[/name_u] at work a few years back and it really suited him
