[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] has become quite a staple on my list–and rabid fans, never fear, I could never separate [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] and [name_u]Dagny[/name_u]!–but I have started thinking about my stance on family names and what constitutes an honor name, and [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] and [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] already hold SO much meaning and ties to different members of my family–five different family members between the two names, actually!–so the second middle I’d been holding on to because I was convinced I needed to honor family, I’m not sure I need anymore, honestly.
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] [name_f]Hope[/name_f]
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
Which brings me to my two favorite [name_f]Eva[/name_f] combos. One ([name_f]Hope[/name_f]) I love because of its sweetness and how it mellows out the strength of [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] perfectly, and the other ([name_f]Louise[/name_f]) I love for how regal she makes [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] feel (at least to me!) and how put together. I love them both equally and for very different reasons, and yeah. I’m stuck. Which would you choose?
If it helps, some of my other very favorite names are [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Adele[/name_f] [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Odilia[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [something], and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] Lærke [name_f]Grace[/name_f].
Thanks, Berries!
Both combos are so wonderful and [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] is such a beautiful, special pairing!
My favourite of your two combos is definitely [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] [name_f]Hope[/name_f]. I agree that [name_f]Hope[/name_f] mellows the strength of [name_u]Dagny[/name_u], and I feel that the flow is better in this combo. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] also adds a little sweetness to this combo. [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] already feels so grand to me that [name_f]Louise[/name_f], who also feels very dignified and regal, makes the combo feel a little too buttoned-up. I think the sweet charm that [name_f]Hope[/name_f] adds to the combo is perfect, and softens the already majestic feel about [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_u]Dagny[/name_u]. I hope I’m making sense!
I just find that [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] feels pretty and regal and grounded, whereas [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] feels so majestic that she has a more buttoned-up and reserved aura. However, both combos are stunning and whatever combo you choose is lovely!
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] feels so warm and regal, a bit like [name_f]Queen[/name_f] Amberley from the Selection series, someone warm, loving, calm and gentle but she’s got this poise and elegance. [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] seems more…common? I don’t know how to describe it, she just seems a little less unique and special (although I do love her, she’s my favourite combo with [name_f]Hope[/name_f] in it).
I think [name_f]Louise[/name_f] fits in better with your combos for [name_f]Adele[/name_f], [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] but [name_f]Hope[/name_f] fits in better with [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f].
Thanks, lovelies! It appears I have a vote for each haha. (To make it worse, I think I may be re-adding [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] back to the pot–there’s just something about her!)
I do like that [name_f]Hope[/name_f] is another virtue name, like my grandma’s middle, just like [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] is another -leen name, just like her first name ([name_f]Arlene[/name_f]). I’m glad I’m not the only one to find [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] regal! I’m not familiar with that series, but she just seems like a little princess with her head held high.
Argh. [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] [name_f]Hope[/name_f]? [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]? [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]? Anyone else want to jump in with an opinion? I’m as torn as ever lol.
I love both combos, but I was wondering about [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] too!
Now that you’ve mentioned her, my favourites have been rearranged a little! I adore [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] [name_u]Wren[/name_u], then [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] and after, [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]! I forgot to mention it in my previous post, but I do find [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] to sound quite long, whereas [name_u]Wren[/name_u] and [name_f]Hope[/name_f] fit perfectly in terms of flow. Argh, they’re all so beautiful, it must be so difficult for you to choose!
@scholastica ~ Eeek, I love the Selection Series! I totally agree about [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] resembling [name_f]Queen[/name_f] [name_f]Amberly[/name_f]!
