I should have said in the years from 1900-1975, I was looking for historicity in [name]Scotland[/name].

Yes, [name]Finlay[/name] was a name used in Victorian times (and remember number 75 those days would equal many more births than a 75 position name would today) that is back in fashion today. Much like [name]George[/name], [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Arthur[/name] (in UK) which would not have been in the top 100 in the 70s either. This doesn’t mean that they are rarely used names in [name]England[/name]. Quite the opposite!

I really don’t know what you are trying to achieve? You can argue till the cows come home, [name]Finlay[/name] is the correct spelling, end of.
