Real life experience with Genevieve?

Hi all!

Been loving the name [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] lately but have never met one in real life!

So, I’m wondering: what is your real life experience with this name? Have you ever met someone named [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]? If you knew them personally, how did they feel about their name? Did they go by a nickname?

Thanks!

I’ve only known of one. She was a stereotypical Southern [name_u]California[/name_u] popular girl at my friends high school. I don’t know how she felt about her name or if she went by a nickname.

There’s also the interior designer, Genevieve Gorder

I knew one as a student. She used the full name [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and owned her name

I had a friend in second grade whose baby sister was named [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]. She didn’t go by a nn, and I know that my friend and I both loved the name. I still find it gorgeous today – one of my personal favorites!

I’ve never met anyone with this name, but I know of the actress [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] Padalecki. She goes by [name_f]Gen[/name_f]

I did, she was very caring and sweet. She went by [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] for a while.

I knew a [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] when I was a child, but she was exclusively [name_f]Genna[/name_f] so it surprised me when I found out her full name was [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]. Not sure why she chose to go by [name_f]Genna[/name_f] only.

I knew one and have always remembered her name, stowing it away for future use. [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] is romantic, Arthurian, and has a wickedly cool legend, but it also abounds in nicknames. Should the bearer be a tomboy or just not like the full name, casual nicknames are widely available. [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] springs forth like a fountain with an array of possibilities to reinvent yourself if your daughter turns out to not be a fan.

I for one love long names on dainty children with cute nns. I’ve decided that I am going to choose [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] over safer options because that’s where my heart is and it’d be hard to tear me away from my longtime love affair with [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]. Names are important, but as long as you don’t name your kid something truly awful, we should cut ourselves some slack.

I love the name [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] it features on list!

The only IRL experience I had of a [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] was when I was in hospital with my kidneys and the nurse who looked after me was [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] known as [name_f]Gen[/name_f]. She was Irish really pretty she had a skinny elf like figure with pale freckly skin & this long thick blonde hair she was beautiful great nurse too.

I met a [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] who went by [name_f]Gen[/name_f] it’s a pretty name

I know three! One is my 9 year old daughter’s best friend. She loves her name and often uses [name_f]Evie[/name_f] as a nickname. Another is at my daughter’s dance school - she goes by [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] as a nickname. I also have a friend’s sister who is about 37. Her name is spelt with a J. She is shortened to [name_f]Jen[/name_f]. All like their names. And I really think it is a beautiful name!

Haha, same

I’ve only know one [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]. She went solely by [name_f]Jenna[/name_f]/Genna.

I’m friends with a [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] who goes by gen like 99% of the time. She’s really nice and really changed my views on the name. She’s really cool, chill, athletic, and friendly.

(I know this is an old thread but I wanted to respond) I have known 2 girls named Genevieve one went almost exclusively by Gen and the other went back and forth between the full Genevieve and Vieve (which she pronounces Veevee) both seemed happy with their name.
