Real name for a fairy

Hi all,
I’m struggling to give my main character her actual name. I think I want it to be after a flower/plant but I cannot decide what works with her ‘new’ name.
Her mother is called Cassia and her father is Abraxas. Her brother (Lucius) renames her Cressida because he feels her actual name does not reflect their social status. Her mother is married to a woman named Laurel (who at the time of Cressida’s birth also had a hand in naming her). Laurel laters becomes the lover of Queen Maeve.
Cressida is short, very thin with soft facial features and silvery-white skin. Her hair falls in curls to her waist - it is silvery blonde but with a tinge of gold. She has one grey and one amber eye.

The names I’ve considered so far:

  • Dahlia
  • Zinnia
  • Linnea
  • Magnolia
  • Clementine
  • Camellia

Ideally, I’d like a anem which she can shorten to a nickname e.g. Celie/Cece from Cressida Camellia - not totally loving this combo though. I feel like it’s not spunky enough for her.

So, you’re looking for the birth name, right? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you want it (the birth name) to have a nickname, or do you want the nickname to come from [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] + Birth Name like a first and middle combo?

My first thought of a flower name that you didn’t list is [name_f]Azalea[/name_f], which can be shortened to [name_u]Aza[/name_u] or [name_f]Lea[/name_f], but I’m not sure how [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] [name_f]Azalea[/name_f] sounds when you put them together.

I like [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] [name_f]Camellia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Celia[/name_f]/[name_f]Celie[/name_f] or [name_f]Cece[/name_f], the nicknames make it seem spunkier to me.

I can try and come up with more, but I’m not sure how the names fit together. Is the birth name the middle name, or is it separate?
