Really need some help here!

I’m a single mother, expecting my third child. I already have a [name]Rebecca[/name] [name]Lucille[/name] and an [name]Elijah[/name] [name]Raymond[/name], and I’m seriously considering [name]Mylee[/name] [name]Gracelyn[/name] if my new baby is a girl. My problem is I’m afraid that when she gets older, she’ll be teased for her name, because of [name]Miley[/name] [name]Cyrus[/name]. I’m not naming my child after her, I just really like the name, but I know kids (well, people in general) can be cruel when it comes to names. Any thoughts or comments on this? Is it a bad idea to stick my baby with that name? I have two other girl names in mind: [name]Penelope[/name] (nn [name]Penny[/name]) [name]Gracelyn[/name] or [name]Iris[/name] [name]Gracelyn[/name]. I know I want [name]Gracelyn[/name] as the middle name, because it’s a mixture of my two sister’s names. I just really need some advice on this!

I don’t think [name]Miley[/name] is a name that will be teased and [name]Hannah[/name] [name]Montana[/name] will most likely be gone and none of the kids in her age group will know here. I think you should be safe to use it. I have never heard of anyone getting teased for the name [name]Miley[/name]…

The only name I know of that kids teased was [name]Atticus[/name]… and it was because it was considered an odd name, which is why I tend to avoid anything too odd

I think [name]Miley[/name] would be a fine name to use.

That being said, I think [name]Penelope[/name] and [name]Iris[/name] go much better with the siblings. [name]Rebecca[/name] and [name]Elijah[/name] are classic and gorgeous and [name]Mylee[/name] is so trendy looking and different. I love [name]Penelope[/name] the most of all three with the siblings.

I think [name]Miley[/name] could be usable, but my sisters grew up on [name]Hannah[/name] [name]Montana[/name] so the association is pretty strong to me. [name]Miley[/name] sounds kind of trendy, as @dantea mentioned, while [name]Rebecca[/name] and [name]Elijah[/name] are so much more classic. It’s still quite different from [name]Rebecca[/name] and [name]Elijah[/name], but have you considered [name]Maile[/name]? It’s said just like [name]Miley[/name] but it’s a Hawaiian name, meaning “vine”. I know a sweet high school student with the name, and I was always impressed by her parents’ choice. I think [name]Rebecca[/name], [name]Elijah[/name], and [name]Maile[/name] would be really cute together! As far as I know, the [name]Maile[/name] I know hasn’t had troubles with pronunciation, if that’s a concern for you.

Good luck!

ETA: I also think [name]Iris[/name] or [name]Penelope[/name] would be fabulous with [name]Rebecca[/name] and [name]Elijah[/name], though! I love [name]Iris[/name] [name]Gracelyn[/name], and it sounds perfect with your older two, if you don’t mind letting [name]Miley[/name]/[name]Mylee[/name]/[name]Maile[/name] go.

I don’t think it would be an issue to use that specific name, but I agree with the previous berries who’ve said that [name]Penelope[/name] or [name]Iris[/name] would go better with your sibset. Because [name]Rebecca[/name] and [name]Elijah[/name] are both classic and easily-identifiable biblical names, I think you would be better off going with a less trendy-looking and sounding name. I think [name]Iris[/name] [name]Gracelyn[/name] is lovely, and I admire the meaning behind her middle :3

Best of luck!!!

I don’t think she’ll get teased, I do think she will not be the only one named [name]Miley[/name]. It has become exceedingly trendy because of [name]Miley[/name] [name]Cyrus[/name]. I really dislike it. Its very cutsey and sounds made up.

I like [name]Iris[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name], but I find them a bit too fancy with [name]Elijah[/name] and [name]Rebecca[/name], which are more plain and simple names to me. I think another simple Biblical name would fit in best, like [name]Rachel[/name] or [name]Leah[/name].

Thank you to all the berries who replied this!!! Your advice is much appreciated and I’m now really leaning towards [name]Iris[/name] [name]Gracelyn[/name]!

I think [name]Miley[/name] would definitely be fine to use, especially since when your daughter is in school [name]Miley[/name] [name]Cyrus[/name] probably won’t be relevant anymore. I strongly suggest using the spelling [name]Miley[/name], but of course it’s up to you! I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Iris[/name] [name]Gracelyn[/name], but I think [name]Miley[/name] might fit better with [name]Rebecca[/name] and [name]Elijah[/name]. Although, [name]Iris[/name], [name]Rebecca[/name] and [name]Elijah[/name] does sound nice… Good luck!

I agree that [name]Iris[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name] fit better with the other sibling names, and that [name]Miley[/name] looks trendy next to them.

I actually think [name]Miley[/name] works really well.

I vote for [name]Iris[/name] [name]Gracelyn[/name]. [name]Iris[/name] has long been one of my favorites!

Ditto. [name]Iris[/name] [name]Gracelyn[/name] is beautiful.
