Really trying to narrowing it down; Girl & Boy names...

[name]Hi[/name] there,

I thought I’d ask for your opinions on my potential baby name choices, it was a super long list before, and these are some of my favourite ideas at the moment, what do you think?

Girls

[name]Piper[/name] [name]Leilani[/name] [name]Monroe[/name]

[name]Piper[/name] [name]Olive[/name] [name]Shoshana[/name]

[name]Marin[/name] [name]Parisa[/name] [name]Cosette[/name]

[name]Marin[/name] [name]Sigourney[/name] [name]Charlize[/name]

[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Ariel[/name] [name]Gwenore[/name] “[name]Chuck[/name]” - ( [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Chuck[/name] would be used pretty much 50/50. I absoloutely love [name]Chuck[/name] on a girl, but I know a lot of you may not. I fell in love with it during the show “Pushing Daisies.”)

[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Ingrid[/name] [name]Ligeia[/name] “[name]Chuck[/name]”

Boys

[name]Roscoe[/name] [name]Lennox[/name] [name]Darcy[/name] “[name]Ross[/name]”

[name]Roscoe[/name] [name]Wolfgang[/name] [name]Darcy[/name] “[name]Ross[/name]”

[name]Micah[/name] [name]Lorcan[/name] [name]Heath[/name]

[name]Rhett[/name] [name]Gregor[/name] [name]Charles[/name]

Overall, I’m really happy with them, although I think my [name]Charlotte[/name] combo may be a bit of a mouthfull… I was thinking perhaps changing it to [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Ariel[/name] [name]Gwyneth[/name], but I’m not sure. [name]Ariel[/name] is after the work of [name]Sylvia[/name] Plath, so I don’t want to change the spelling to [name]Arielle[/name] etc. [name]Ligeia[/name] is pronouned (Lye-jee-uh) and is in there simply because I love the poem by [name]Edgar[/name] [name]Allan[/name] [name]Poe[/name]. I’m a literature geek incase it wasn’t obvious, haha.

And as you can see, my boys list is very heavily influenced by the male characters in novels.

I also like two middle names, and am not willing to ever cut it back to just one. So this is non-negotiable

Any comments? What would be your picks? Thanks for any help!

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Ariel[/name] [name]Gwyneth[/name]! Or you can go with
[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Gwyneth[/name] [name]Ariel[/name].

I think [name]Rhett[/name] [name]Gregor[/name] [name]Charles[/name] is very handsome.

My favourites from your list are;
[name]Piper[/name] [name]Leilani[/name] [name]Monroe[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Ariel[/name] [name]Gwyneth[/name]
[name]Micah[/name] [name]Lorcan[/name] [name]Heath[/name]
[name]Roscoe[/name] [name]Lennox[/name] [name]Darcy[/name]

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Ariel[/name] [name]Gwenore[/name]; it’s beautiful and I love that [name]Ariel[/name] has that literary connection that is significant to you. I think it’s perfect, and I wouldn’t look any further.

By the way, not to be harsh, but I really can’t see the appeal of [name]Piper[/name] - it’s so masculine sounding and it reminds me of the christmas carole with 12 pipers piping. I think it’s a trend that will likely be short-lived. When in doubt, always go with the elegant classic.

Girls :

[name]Piper[/name] [name]Leilani[/name] [name]Monroe[/name] - I feel like [name]Piper[/name] doesn’t quite ‘fit’ with the more unusual, vintage flavour of your other names, as it and other -er names are so popular at the moment.

[name]Piper[/name] [name]Olive[/name] [name]Shoshana[/name] - of your two [name]Piper[/name] combinations, I much prefer this one, as I feel the vintage [name]Olive[/name] and history-steepend [name]Shoshana[/name] balance out [name]Piper[/name] somewhat.

[name]Marin[/name] [name]Parisa[/name] [name]Cosette[/name] - this name seems quite French-themed, I must say. [name]Marin[/name] is nice, though, and [name]Cosette[/name] is beautiful.

[name]Marin[/name] [name]Sigourney[/name] [name]Charlize[/name] - my comment still stands. Also, I would not use both [name]Charlize[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] in the same sibset.

[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Ariel[/name] [name]Gwenore[/name] “[name]Chuck[/name]” - while I am not a fan at all of boys’ names for girls, I actually really like girls’ names with masculine nicknames, and I think this is a versatile, quirky example. [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Ariel[/name] [name]Gwyneth[/name] does have better flow to my ears, but [name]Gwenore[/name] is stunning. [name]Charlotte[/name] is a pretty classic which isn’t too popular (and also offers the sweet nn option of [name]Lottie[/name], as well as [name]Chuck[/name]).

[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Ingrid[/name] [name]Ligeia[/name] “[name]Chuck[/name]” - I prefer your other [name]Charlotte[/name] combination, but these names are nice.

As a sister to [name]Charlotte[/name] “[name]Chuck[/name]”, I might pick [name]Gwendolen[/name] “[name]Gwen[/name]” (The Importance of Being [name]Earnest[/name]), [name]Tessa[/name] ([name]Tess[/name] of the d’Urbevilles), [name]Leonore[/name] (possible nn [name]Leo[/name]) as it reminds me of [name]Gwenore[/name], or [name]Alexandra[/name] nn [name]Andy[/name].

A full combo : [name]Leonore[/name] [name]Ingrid[/name] [name]Cosette[/name].

Boys :

[name]Roscoe[/name] [name]Lennox[/name] [name]Darcy[/name] - very surname-y.

[name]Roscoe[/name] [name]Wolfgang[/name] [name]Darcy[/name] - [name]Wolfgang[/name] is great, although I must admit to preferring [name]Amadeus[/name].

[name]Micah[/name] [name]Lorcan[/name] [name]Heath[/name] - [name]Micah[/name] is handsome, and so is [name]Lorcan[/name]. This combo is quite C-heavy, and I might slipt it up to [name]Micah[/name] [name]Charles[/name] [name]Heath[/name] and [name]Rhett[/name] [name]Gregor[/name] [name]Lorcan[/name].

[name]Rhett[/name] [name]Gregor[/name] [name]Charles[/name] - [name]Gregor[/name] is interesting and [name]Rhett[/name] is so handsome, although I prefer it as a nn for [name]Everett[/name]. Of course, I wouldn’t use [name]Charles[/name] if you use [name]Charlotte[/name], and vice versa.

[name]Auburn[/name]

Thanks for everyone’s input so far! You’re all so fabulous and helpful!

[name]Piper[/name] has been my favourite name for the past 6 years, and has never wavered, haha. I truly adore it, and its not at all popular where I live ([name]Scotland[/name]) so it is seen as very unusual, but I’d still love it even if it reached the number 1 spot in the popularity charts. It also has a pretty special, personal significance for me.

But yes, I do love literary connections, I think it would be rather awesome to have something written by Plath, [name]Poe[/name], [name]Austen[/name] etc linked to your name. I would have loved that for myself

Oh and I wouldn’t use names of a similar ilk in the same sibset, its a real pet peeve of mine. I’ll eventually figure out my one favourite, and roll on from there… well that is the plan anyway!

Anyone else?
