Recent babies named by family, friends, and acquaintances

I kept a list of names of babies named in the last year and a half. It’s interesting to see which names are popular in my world and how creative some people get. Most of these are in the USA or [name_f]Canada[/name_f], but a few live overseas. I am now starting a new list to share next year. I am also posting a boy list.

[name_f]Abigail[/name_f]
[name_f]Ava[/name_f] (×4)

Interesting list and quite a number of Avas! I’ve still only met one!
Nice to see Elowyn, [name_f]Marcella[/name_f] and [name_f]Lillia[/name_f] too and I’m interested by [name_f]Nevara[/name_f] and Quinlynn

So interesting!
Some of them are not the names you would expect to see these days

I love seeing [name_f]Diana[/name_f], [name_f]Joanna[/name_f], [name_f]Marcella[/name_f] and [name_f]Selene[/name_f]!

My personal fave would have to be [name_f]Julia[/name_f], though —so beautiful, sophisticated and underrated.

I think I’ve taught an [name_f]Ava[/name_f] every year in my 10 years of teaching. It’s a great name and every one has been a sweetheart!

I also know quite a few Giannas. It’s funny, my cousin’s name was [name_f]Gia[/name_f] (born in the 80s) and no one had ever heard it, know there are so many [name_f]Gianna[/name_f], [name_f]Gia[/name_f] and Giovannas out there.

It’s funny to see both my name and my daughter’s name on that list haha.

I also like:
Elowyn
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Marcella[/name_f]
Quinlynn

You actually know a baby Quinlynn? Im guessing a girl by the spelling choice? It’s been on my gp crushes for awhile as most people think it’s clunky or too odd. I fluctuate on if I prefer it for a boy or a girl and on how I prefer to spell it.

Theres some nice names on this list, thanks for sharing

Im from the midwest and names I’ve heard recently are Huxl3y, Grantl33, Ad3lynne, Olivi1a, L1via, Harris0n, Br@dyx, Lyr@, Av@lynn, H@zel, Gunn3r, N@talie, P@isley

Quinlynn is a coworker’s daughter, here in Pennsylvania. I had never seen it before.

It never ceases to amaze me how name choices cluster in certain circles. I’ve only met one [name_f]Ava[/name_f] in my entire life and I’ve never met a [name_u]Harper[/name_u]. The most recent (U.S.) baby girls I know are [name_f]Niamh[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], and [name_u]Brooke[/name_u].

[name_f]Gianna[/name_f] is growing on me, [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] too

A lot of these are quite lovely!

My favorites:
[name_f]Marcella[/name_f] - I’ve been trying to talk my husband into this name since we were dating - still won’t go for it! :frowning:
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] - I was never a big fan of this name (I thought it was okay, but not a favorite for sure), but it’s one of my nieces names, so I now have a fondness for it because of her
[name_f]Selene[/name_f]
