Pronounced to rhyme with [name]Leah[/name] and [name]Mia[/name]. I came across this recently and it intrigued me. At first I thought it was a variant spelling on the Welsh name [name]Nia[/name], but looking it up it is actually a legit name in this spelling, a Biblical name meaning ‘moved’ or ‘moving’. It’s rare but has a familiar sound to it, and it’s been growing on me.
Anyone else like it, or am I alone in this one?
I have loved it for a while. It sounds familiar while still being unique. If nothing else, it would make a beautiful mn.
I love the sweet sound of Neah, but I much prefer the spelling [name]Nia[/name]. Either way, it is unusual but still accessible.
There is the issue of pronunciation. Since it is an unusual spelling, I would wonder “Is it NEE-uh or NAY-uh?”
I don’t like it. But I know a couple [name]Linnea[/name]'s with the nickname [name]Nea[/name].
Where I live [name]Leah[/name] is pronounced [name]Lay[/name]-uh, so I would have pronounced Neah like Nay-uh.
I think [name]Nia[/name] is pretty, but the Neah spelling doesn’t look attractive to me.
Hmm. I find the [name]Nia[/name] spelling much more attractive, but the meaning of Neah is nice. I would love to see [name]Zinnia[/name] nn Zinny/[name]Nia[/name], though!
