I have been loving [name]Mackie[/name] for a boy. What could be his full name other than [name]Mack[/name]?
[name]Mackenzie[/name], although that is a girls name to me…
I know a girl named [name]Mackie[/name] so that might be prejudicing me, but I’m not fond of it.
What about [name]Cormac/name or Macksen or [name]Malachi[/name] with nn [name]Mack[/name]?
I agree with [name]Malachi[/name]! <3
Along with the other suggestions, I’d say any of the [name]Max[/name] names… [name]Max[/name], [name]Maxwell[/name], [name]Maximilian[/name], etc.
In a book I read, the main character’s name was [name]Malcolm[/name] “[name]Mackie[/name]”.
I actually went to school with a guy called [name]Mackie[/name]. His given name is actually [name]Matthew[/name] though. His older brother couldn’t say [name]Matty[/name], he said “[name]Mackie[/name]” instead…and it stuck. I’m pretty sure to this day he goes by [name]Mackie[/name].
But any name that starts with Mc or [name]Mac[/name] can give you the nn you are looking for. My personal favorite is [name]Macauley[/name].
Here’s all the names I think could give you the nn [name]Mackie[/name]:
[name]Cormac[/name]
[name]MacArthur[/name]
MacAdam
Macalla – full moon
[name]MacAllister[/name]
Macardle – son of great courage
Macartan
[name]Macauley[/name]
Macbain
Macbey
Maccabee
Maccoll
Maccoy
[name]Macegan[/name]
Macelroy
Macerio – blessed
[name]Macewen[/name]
[name]Macgregor[/name]
Machau – gift from god
Machol – dance
Maciver – son of an archer
Mackean – son of a wealthy man
[name]Mackenzie[/name]
[name]Mackey[/name] – son of [name]Aodh[/name] – it’s a legit name by itself
Macklain
Macklin
Maclachlan
Macleod
Also any of these names could work [name]IMO[/name]:
[name]Maxim[/name]
[name]Maximilian[/name]
[name]Maxwell[/name]
[name]Maximus[/name]
[name]Love[/name] [name]Mack[/name]! [name]Cormac[/name], [name]Macarthur[/name], [name]Maverick[/name], [name]Macauley[/name] and [name]Malcolm[/name] are my suggestions. Sorry for any repeats.
Thanks for the suggestions. I like [name]Mack[/name] nn [name]Mackie[/name] and Dh likes something more longer like [name]Malachi[/name] and [name]Mackenzie[/name].
I think [name]Mack[/name] by itself is fine but I can also see the plus to offering a more formal name for options.
My 19 yr old brother’s middle name is [name]Macauley[/name], which I gave to my 7 month old son. He gets called [name]Mack[/name] sometimes, but I’m sure once he goes to school he’ll be called [name]Mack[/name] quite often. [name]Macauley[/name] is a name with great significance to my family, and I’m yet to meet another person named [name]Macauley[/name]. Everybody comments on how much they love the name which I like but I hope people I know don’t start calling their kids [name]Macauley[/name] after hearing I used it!
I used [name]Mackenzie[/name] as my son’s middle name so I do not agree with others that it’s a girl name. It’s a boy name that is sometimes unfortunately used on girls. I hate the name on girls. End rant. The point was you could absolutely use it for [name]Mackie[/name].
However, I much prefer the suggestion of [name]Cormac[/name]. I think that is the most terrific idea ever. [name]Cormac[/name] nn [name]Mackie[/name]. [name]LOVE[/name] IT!
