I just saw this and knew immediately that I had to post it here. [name]Reese[/name] Witherspoon has just had a son, [name]Tennessee[/name] [name]James[/name]. She has two children with her ex-huband [name]Ryan[/name] [name]Philippe[/name], [name]Ava[/name] and [name]Deacon[/name]. I think her [name]Ava[/name] played a bit of a role in starting the [name]Ava[/name] trend - the name was significantly less well-used when she was born.
I’m super surprised and fascinated by [name]Tennessee[/name]. It’s definitely a bold choice and I expect a lot of people will probably hate it. I’m not really sure what I think of it yet, but I really don’t think that I hate it personally. I definitely wouldn’t have expected it, though. [name]Reese[/name] is from [name]Tennessee[/name], so I would imagine that the name is in honor of that. I’m not sure if her husband is as well.
I think I like it. There is [name]Tennessee[/name] [name]Williams[/name] the author and [name]James[/name] is more common if he chooses to go by that later. I just don’t like it with [name]Ava[/name] and [name]Deacon[/name]. Granted they have different dads, but it doesn’t seem like a fit.
Reminds me of [name]Tennessee[/name] [name]Williams[/name]. It is okay, a whole lot better than some other celebrity choices. The name may raise in popularity, but I also predict that this will start getting people to use different place names other than [name]London[/name] and [name]Brooklyn[/name].
I really dislike this name. [name]Tennessee[/name] Toth??? I hope they call him TJ or just [name]James[/name]. I like [name]Reese[/name]'s girl-naming style much better than her boy-naming style!
I would be okay with it if it was shorter…but [name]Tennessee[/name]? [name]How[/name] in the world is he going to learn how to spell his name in kindergarten?
I hear Tennesse [name]James[/name] and think of a cartoon mouse or something. Fail. She made a great choice with [name]Ava[/name], boring with [name]Deacon[/name] and now cray cray with Tennesse. Or maybe she is onto something and I’ll name my daughter Mississippi Jane… not.
The same way every other child learns to spell their name in kindergarten. I think [name]Tennessee[/name] is a really cool choice, although I would expect something more adventurous than [name]James[/name] in the middle spot…
I agree completely. I adore [name]Reese[/name] and I love the nod to her [name]Tennessee[/name] roots, and perhaps [name]James[/name] is for [name]Jim[/name], but [name]Tennessee[/name] Toth isn’t my favorite. [name]Russell[/name] Crowe did name his son [name]Tennyson[/name] and I think believe he goes by [name]Tenny[/name],so maybe [name]Tennessee[/name] will as well.
Regardless of my opinion, congrats to [name]Reese[/name] and [name]Jim[/name]!
I love it, it’s gorgeous. [name]Tennessee[/name] [name]James[/name] Toth sounds perfect to me. He can easily go by ‘[name]Tenny[/name]’ or "TJ’, so it’s not too far out there. I’ve heard much stranger. Congrats [name]Reese[/name] and [name]Jim[/name]!
I adore [name]Tennyson[/name], albeit more for a girl. The kid could definitely go by TJ. I don’t think it would be so bad if he had a different last name. [name]Tennessee[/name] Toth just doesn’t sound great to me
It’s nms, but I like it. It suits her, honors her home state, and brings to mind a fantastic writer. People won’t actually be calling him [name]Tennessee[/name] Toth all the time, so even though it’s a bit alliterative, it shouldn’t be too much of a problem.
I think it’s fine, but I agree with previous posters that it doesn’t go so well with the older siblings’ names. I also think it’s better because she doesn’t live in [name]Tennessee[/name] anymore. I live in Nashville and I think it would be “overkill” to live here and name your child “[name]Tennessee[/name]”. Or “Nashville”, for that matter
I doubt it as [name]James[/name] is her husband’s name (At least I’m assuming it is. I know he goes by [name]Jim[/name] but I’ve never run into a [name]Jim[/name] whose full name wasn’t [name]James[/name]). I actually don’t mind [name]Tennessee[/name] and he could always go by [name]Tenn[/name] or [name]Tenny[/name] (Since [name]Penn[/name] is an acceptable boy’s name, I don’t think that [name]Tenn[/name] should be a problem).
