Reflections on Sequoia, almost 2 years in

I got a lot of mixed feedback when I told people I was naming my son ‘[name_u]Sequoia[/name_u]’, but I have to say, almost everyone I meet loves his name. I get compliments on it all the time. Maybe it’s because we live in the [name_m]Pacific[/name_m] NW of the US, where almost everyone loves hiking, camping, etc. I’m so very glad that I didn’t name him something else, and followed my heart with his name.

I will say, he gets mistaken for a girl ALL THE TIME, and that might bother him later in life, but I hope not.

What a beautiful tree and name!

[name_f]Every[/name_f] name has some pitfall. Mine is not uncommon but almost no one pronounces it as I like.

Great choice- I love tree names for males.

I’ve always loved your son’s name. [name_u]Sequoia[/name_u] [name_u]Orion[/name_u] is an awesome name. If when he gets older he doesn’t like [name_u]Sequoia[/name_u] he always has [name_u]Orion[/name_u] to fall back on.

And for what it’s worth I think it’s a masculine name, doesn’t feel feminine in the slightest to me.
