Reginald???

No, I’m not considering it, but I am wondering who would?
I was browsing the list of baby names in my Province for 2011, and came across 2 Reginalds! I hadn’t even thought anyone was still using this name, it just feels so antiquated and stuffy to me! [name]Even[/name] the nn Reggies feels decades old, and a throw back to an [name]Archie[/name] comic! Opinions?!

Edited to add – I also just noticed one boy was named just Reggie!

[name]Reginald[/name] is okay; I like the Italian version, [name]Renato[/name], better. I really like the nn [name]Reggie[/name] though.

I love [name]Reginald[/name]. I’d love to use it. If I owned a huge manor in the countryside, had a literature professor husband, ten setters running around on the estate, daughters named [name]Amabel[/name] and [name]Winifred[/name] having tea parties with their dolls and dressed up bunnies, went hunting every [name]Sunday[/name] and had my vacations on the French [name]Riviera[/name].

Best. Post. [name]Ever[/name].

I really like it, and don’t see it as very posh when using nns [name]Reg[/name]/[name]Reggie[/name]. I’d use it in a down-to-earth combo though, like [name]Reginald[/name] [name]John[/name].

I think [name]Reginald[/name] is cute, but hard to wear as a first name, I’d imagine, so I’d only consider it for a middle name.

Oh no not [name]Reginald[/name], it is a family name and the person who was given this name decided when he was only able to say Weggie not [name]Reggie[/name] that he would rather be named [name]Bill[/name]. And was forever more!

I just hear, “Sir [name]Reginald[/name], [name]Duke[/name] of Chutney” from the animal/Disney version of [name]Robin[/name] Hood.
