Reid, Tess, Quinn, and Grant?

UPDATED - SEE [name]PAGE[/name] 3

What do you think of the potential sibling set - [name]Tess[/name] (G), [name]Quinn[/name] (G), [name]Reid[/name] (B), and [name]Grant[/name] (B)?

[name]Quinn[/name] [name]Helena[/name]
[name]Tess[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name] / [name]Tess[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Reid[/name] [name]Nicholas[/name] (?)
[name]Grant[/name] [name]Theodore[/name] (?)

[name]Lemon[/name]

I love [name]Reed[/name]. Short but strong, masculine without machismo.

my prom date was named [name]Alan[/name] [name]Reid[/name]!!! He was soo cute! He was gay, but all the other girls didn’t know it and asked me if it was alright if they could ask him out. LMFAO o0o the memories!!!

Sorry, my thoughts on [name]Reed[/name] ([name]Reid[/name])… I think of a preppy/smart guy, well put together type.

My favorite boy name! Good choice!

Thanks! [name]Glad[/name] to see it has a favorable opinion thus far!

What spelling - [name]Reed[/name] or [name]Reid[/name] - do you prefer and why?

[name]Do[/name] you like the name with [name]Tess[/name] and [name]Quinn[/name], and maybe [name]Paige[/name]?

[name]Lemon[/name]

I love [name]Reed[/name], spelled with the double, although I don’t mind the other spelling. I like the [name]Reed[/name] spelling more because I love nature names and I just think it makes more sense pronunciation wise, not that I think you would have any pronounciation problems with [name]Reid[/name].

I think [name]Reed[/name] goes really well with [name]Tess[/name] and [name]Quinn[/name] (both of which I love) I like how they all have double letters, if that makes sense, so if I was being over-analytical I would say [name]Paige[/name] didn’t fit in, in that aspect. I like [name]Tess[/name] and [name]Quinn[/name] more than [name]Paige[/name] but I could see [name]Reed[/name], [name]Tess[/name], [name]Quinn[/name] and [name]Paige[/name] as siblings. What would [name]Reed[/name]'s middle name be? I can’t remember if you were planning on using family names, but I think [name]Reed[/name] [name]Everett[/name] is very handsome.

~[name]Elena[/name]

[name]Hi[/name] again [name]Lemon[/name], I went to high school with a boy named [name]Reid[/name], and it fit him well…he loved nature and outdoor sports. He was also kind of preppy. If you look up [name]Reid[/name] vs. [name]Reed[/name] on NB, [name]Reid[/name] is the more popular spelling.

I love the name [name]Reed[/name]!! I prefer ā€œ[name]Reed[/name]ā€ to ā€œ[name]Reid[/name]ā€, not sure why, I must just like the look of it more.

I think [name]Reed[/name] goes nicely with [name]Quinn[/name] and [name]Paige[/name]. I think it sounds good with [name]Tess[/name] too, but I’m not really a fan of [name]Tess[/name] myself, hence I prefer it with [name]Quinn[/name] and [name]Paige[/name]. I also like that they are all one syllable, so there is some consistancy in that respect. I think they would be great in a sibset, names that aren’t too common but still familiar.

@ [name]Elena[/name]

I’m glad you like it, and I like the double letter thing, too. So, yes, for some reason, [name]Reed[/name], [name]Tess[/name], and [name]Quinn[/name] seem like an ideal sibling set. No, middle names are not family names, as the ones I had in mind for girls are [name]Quinn[/name] [name]Helena[/name] and [name]Tess[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name]. [name]Both[/name] seem feminine and classic, yet more exotic or unusual, and they have nice meanings. No clue yet for [name]Reed[/name], but [name]Reed[/name] [name]Everett[/name] is handsome - E issue, though! Ideas?

@ Kyemsma

I think my brother went to school with a [name]Reid[/name], too, but the double letter continuity of [name]Reed[/name], and the ease of pronunciation, attracts me to the alternate spelling. I looked both up on SSA, and [name]Reid[/name] is just marginally more popular than [name]Reed[/name]. [name]Do[/name] you think it is a big deal?

@ Bex

It’s [name]Tess[/name], actually, as I’m not a fan of [name]Tessa[/name] either. Does that change your opinion? [name]Tess[/name] and [name]Quinn[/name] are actually my favorites, with [name]Paige[/name] being more of an extra choice because I think it is cute and fits well. [name]Do[/name] you think [name]Reed[/name], [name]Tess[/name], and [name]Quinn[/name] work?

Thanks, all! What other boy name would you put with [name]Reed[/name], [name]Tess[/name], and [name]Quinn[/name], if you have time to comment?

[name]Lemon[/name]

I am planning on using the name [name]Reid[/name] if I have another boy. I absolutely love the name. I like the [name]Reed[/name] spelling as well (we will use [name]Reid[/name] because it just happens to be a family name, so it makes sense to use that spelling), I think both sound strong and masculine.
I am actually considering the name [name]Paige[/name] as a middle name for a future daughter as well, so I think they go well together. I think [name]Reed[/name] sounds great with [name]Quinn[/name], and it goes well with [name]Tess[/name] as well.

Hey [name]Lemon[/name]!!

I like [name]Tess[/name] better than [name]Tessa[/name], my mistake! But still not sold on it as a name. But it is a good part of the sibset; I think [name]Tess[/name], [name]Reed[/name] and [name]Quinn[/name] work really well together.

For another boy, I like:

[name]Kai[/name] (but may be too close to [name]Quinn[/name] - ā€˜Kwin’? And I just really love the name, borderline [name]IMO[/name])
[name]Jude[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] it as part of this sibset
[name]Thane[/name] - not sure what you think of it, but I like it.
[name]Sean[/name] - I like it.

[name]Love[/name] to hear what you think about these names [name]Lemon[/name]!!

@ [name]Logan[/name]'s Mom

[name]Reid[/name] is such a cute pairing with [name]Logan[/name]! You should use it for a future boy, for sure!

@ Bex

[name]Kai[/name] is a really cool name, but it feels a bit off, style wise, to me. [name]Jude[/name] sounds so cool with the other names, but it sort of bothers me that [name]Reed[/name] and [name]Jude[/name] both end in the D sound - yes, I’m a bit nuts about these things! [name]Thane[/name], well, I actually know one! It’s an interesting name, but I’m not in love. And, [name]Sean[/name] sounds a bit dated to me, to be honest. Any more?

[name]Do[/name] you think another double letter name would be good since [name]Quinn[/name], [name]Tess[/name], and [name]Reed[/name] all have them? Here are some I thought of, though I’m not sure I’m in love yet:

[name]Boone[/name] - But it ends in N, like [name]Quinn[/name].
[name]Brett[/name] - I just don’t care for this on a boy.
[name]Brooke[/name] - All girl to me.
[name]Brooks[/name] - I actually like this, but [name]Tess[/name] and [name]Brooks[/name] both end in S!
[name]Brynn[/name] - Too girly, and it rhymes with [name]Quinn[/name].
[name]Duff[/name] - This doesn’t even sound like a name.
[name]Finn[/name] - 1) my dog, 2) rhymes with [name]Quinn[/name] = no.
[name]Geoff[/name] - Not sold.
[name]Glenn[/name] - Is this awful? Maybe so.
[name]Greer[/name] - Great, for a girl.
[name]Gregg[/name] - Dated.
[name]Keefe[/name] - Kind of cool, kind of weird.
[name]Kerr[/name] - Not sure yet.
[name]Lee[/name] - Feels incomplete.
[name]Peers[/name] - Is this like [name]Pierce[/name]? It is kind of cool, but ends in S like [name]Tess[/name]!
[name]Scott[/name] - Does this sound dated? I think so.
[name]Todd[/name] - Reminds me of [name]Todd[/name] [name]Palin[/name].
[name]Tripp[/name] - Again, the [name]Palin[/name] family.
[name]Will[/name] - I don’t know. Maybe?
Woods - [name]Tiger[/name]. [name]Just[/name] peculiar.

See? It’s a mess!

[name]Lemon[/name]

Oh, I love [name]Geoffrey[/name]… I was thinking about it at one point… [name]Geoffrey[/name] [name]Winston[/name]… :stuck_out_tongue: I think the name is VERY underused.

And love [name]Greer[/name] too. None of the other names stand out to me.

[name]Gregory[/name] is handsome too.

I did not pick up on the ā€˜d’ ending in [name]Jude[/name] and [name]Reed[/name], and now it bothers me too!! I agree that [name]Kai[/name] is different, hence why it was borderline for me. I don’t think [name]Sean[/name] is too dated, but I think that’s because I don’t know any!! And I’m not a fan of naming children after people I know, so there goes [name]Thane[/name], too. Decision decisions!

I actually really like [name]Finn[/name] the best, but like you said, it rhymes with [name]Quinn[/name], so no go!!

Of the other names you listed, I really like [name]Will[/name], and I can see it working with this sibset. I just said it out load, though, and I’m not sure what you think about this, but [name]Quinn[/name] and [name]Will[/name] both have the ā€˜wi’ sound.

I really like [name]Scott[/name]. I think of [name]Scotland[/name], and I think the other names have a very British feel (am I crazy??). I think [name]Quinn[/name], [name]Scott[/name], [name]Tess[/name] and [name]Reed[/name] sound good, but I’ve just written [name]Scott[/name] before [name]Tess[/name], and now I’m not sure about the repeated ā€˜t’ sound.

I wasn’t too keen on the other names on the list.

Others:

[name]Jack[/name] (my FAVOURITE boys name!! But way too popular here in Australia)
[name]Ash[/name] (I really think that this works with your sibset, but it doesn’t have a double letter)
[name]Bill[/name] (outdated [name]IMO[/name], but meets the double letter, one syllable requirement)
[name]Bramm[/name] (see comment on [name]Bill[/name])
[name]Cliff[/name]??

Your thoughts??

@ wagnerem

[name]Geoffrey[/name] [name]Winston[/name] is so very classic and vintage and handsome! Great name!

@ bex

My favorites were [name]Brooks[/name], [name]Finn[/name], [name]Peers[/name], and [name]Will[/name], I think. However, [name]Brooks[/name] reminds me of country group [name]Brooks[/name] & [name]Dunn[/name], which seems stylistically off, [name]Finn[/name] not only rhymes with [name]Quinn[/name] but is my dog’s name, [name]Peers[/name] looks peculiar to me (and [name]Pierce[/name] sounds dangerous!), and [name]Will[/name] next to [name]Quinn[/name] makes me think of quills. Goodness!

Of your new ones, [name]Jack[/name] is lovely but does it have the same feel as [name]Quinn[/name], [name]Tess[/name], and [name]Reed[/name]? I’m not sure. [name]Ash[/name] reminds me of [name]Asher[/name], I child I babysat for, and [name]Arthur[/name] [name]Ashe[/name], a great namesake! But, alone, it looks incomplete. [name]Bill[/name] is my grandpa, so that is out. [name]Bramm[/name] and [name]Cliff[/name], well, maybe if we were in the 1950s? Sorry!

So, I’m thinking that perhaps the way to fix this issue is to take Kyemsma’s advice and use [name]Reid[/name] instead of [name]Reed[/name], thus negating the need for another double letter name. [name]Quinn[/name], [name]Tess[/name], and [name]Reid[/name]? Is that better? Are we sure [name]Reid[/name] doesn’t look weird? Now can we find another Irish-Scottish-English cool name (maybe surname?) that works with the group? And, middle name ideas?

Thanks!

[name]Lemon[/name]

So, I just went on urbanfonts.com, typed in [name]Reid[/name] and [name]Reed[/name], found this really cool Celtic font, and decided [name]Reid[/name] looked totally perfect! Yay!

What about [name]Grant[/name]? I like that it fits with the English-Scottish-Irish feel of [name]Quinn[/name], [name]Tess[/name], and [name]Reid[/name], and it feels strong and handsome, yet still playful and fun. I like that it has substance despite its shortness. Okay - so do you like it or hate it?

Here were some of my ideas - what do you think?

[name]Quinn[/name] [name]Helena[/name] ([name]Quinn[/name] [name]Helena[/name] [name]Starling[/name])
[name]Tess[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name] ([name]Tess[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name] [name]Jay[/name])
[name]Reid[/name] [name]Nicholas[/name] ([name]Reid[/name] [name]Nicholas[/name] [name]Heron[/name])
[name]Grant[/name] [name]Theodore[/name] ([name]Grant[/name] [name]Theodore[/name] [name]Finch[/name])

[name]Lemon[/name]

I love the name [name]Reed[/name]. My daughter’s prom date is named [name]Reed[/name] with two ā€œe’sā€.

Awesome! I hope [name]Laura[/name] and [name]Reed[/name] have fun at prom - if it hasn’t already happened!

What do you think of [name]Quinn[/name], [name]Tess[/name], [name]Reid[/name], and [name]Grant[/name], [name]Susan[/name]? [name]Do[/name] you think [name]Reid[/name] is better since [name]Grant[/name] won’t be an odd-ball out with no double letter?

[name]Lemon[/name]

[name]Lemon[/name] :-)[/quote]

[name]Hi[/name], [name]Lemon[/name], thanks for wishing [name]Laura[/name] and [name]Reed[/name] well at the prom. [name]Laura[/name]'s first prom date [name]Connor[/name] backed out on her. So I hope everything works out with [name]Reed[/name].

[name]Quinn[/name] - I like this name. I do think of [name]John[/name] [name]Edward[/name]'s baby though. Poor little [name]Quinn[/name] - I hope she is able to have a happy childhood in spite of all the scrutiny. I feel terrible for [name]Elizabeth[/name] Edwards - she seems like such a classy person.

[name]Tess[/name] - I love [name]Tess[/name] because of the book and movie called ā€œ[name]Tess[/name] of the d’ubervillesā€.

[name]Reid[/name] - This spelling is very handsome. [name]Love[/name] [name]Reed[/name], too.

[name]Grant[/name] - I am biased against this name because my aunt had a m-i-l named Mrs. [name]Grant[/name] who was always around. She had the personality of a snail and would cook icky things that I was forced to try. Yuck! But I’m sure that most people would think that [name]Grant[/name] is a handsome name.

[name]Hi[/name] [name]Lemon[/name] - awesome! I’m glad you like [name]Reid[/name] spelled this way! [name]Glad[/name] I could help…by the way, your idea of [name]Grant[/name] as part of the sib-set is a good one! Also, how about [name]Graham[/name]?
