It looks like the Disney+ release of the live-action Little Mermaid has been postponed until September 
. So instead I wanted to create another renaming post! I hope you enjoy them as much as I do because they are my favorite to make.
In the first movie, the seven sisters, who each have an A name, represent the seven seas.
The new live-action film has changed the names of the characters to emphasize the part of the ocean they control: the Saithe, Brinedive, Apneic, Chaine, Piton, and Fracus seas, while Ariel herself rules over the Carinae Sea.
