Renaming a character: Valerie

[name_m]Alas[/name_m] for [name_f]Valerie[/name_f], she came up against another character named [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] “[name_f]Callie[/name_f]” and lost. Requirements for a new name:

  • Needs a very intuitive nickname, like [name_u]Val[/name_u] from [name_f]Valerie[/name_f] or [name_f]Aly[/name_f] from [name_f]Alyson[/name_f]. Nothing even a little bit of a stretch!
  • Can’t sound like [name_u]Rowan/name_u, [name_f]Callie[/name_f], [name_m]Jonathan[/name_m], or [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. So no R, C, J, or E. Ideally no -ee, -an, or -la, although that’s less important.

[name_f]Valerie[/name_f] is thoughtful and philosophical. She’s snarky and sarcastic, but kind of insecure and feels terrible when she says anything mean. If that helps at all?

There’s [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] with the nickname [name_f]Maddie[/name_f] or (less common) [name_f]Tilda[/name_f]. There’s [name_f]Miranda[/name_f] with Mir, although that’s kind of a weird one. You could try [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] with the nn [name_f]Nora[/name_f], or [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f] with [name_u]Steph[/name_u] or [name_f]Samantha[/name_f] with [name_u]Sam[/name_u]. Also, [name_f]Briana[/name_f] with [name_f]Bri[/name_f].

The first idea for [name_f]Valerie[/name_f]'s replacement was [name_f]Melanie[/name_f] with the nickname [name_f]Melly[/name_f], but that really doesn’t fit any of your criteria.
