I’m finishing up my divorce pretty soon (toxic relationship, it’s a good thing for me) and since I’m going to be changing my legal name back to my maiden name ([name_m]Smith[/name_m]) I decided that I want to rename myself. I’ll be keeping my first and middle names ([name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] [name_u]Anne[/name_u], they’ll be one of a couple of middle names I’ll be choosing) but I might forego the [name_m]Smith[/name_m] all together and choose a last name I like too. I’ve wanted to choose my name for years and I’m excited to finally do it. I’ve found [name_u]Fifer[/name_u], which I really like, but I want some more options to think about just to be sure it’s the one I want.
I’m wondering how to narrow down which names to seriously consider? I don’t know how to pick one. I know who I am as a person, so think I’d want something more on the fun, easygoing side. I also don’t like nicknames so I’d prefer names that can’t be shortened. I hate being called Kenzie and even when I’ve introduced myself as Mackenzie, it almost always gets shortened.
I don’t have my chosen middle and last name picked out so it’s a clean slate in terms of a fun first name. I want to hear your ideas!
