Renee

I heard [name_f]Renee[/name_f] (for girls) and I thought: actually I kind of like it. Then I looked at [name_f]Renee[/name_f]'s name page and I was given the impression that it’s quite dated.

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you experience the same? Not that it would be ready for revival yet, but is it too 50’s-sounding?

All comments are greatly appreciated:)

I actually really like it too! It’s dated as a middle name, but as a FN I think it’s lovely.

[name_f]Jolene[/name_f] was like 1960s, and it’s coming back, so yeah.

I like [name_f]Renee[/name_f], it makes me think of the Left Banke song. I assume it will sound fresh again soon, I haven’t heard of any Renees for long. It’s more modern classic than dated.

It does seem kind of dated to me. I would use it as a middle name.

My 8-year-old sister has a girl in her Girl [name_u]Scout[/name_u] troop named [name_f]Renee[/name_f]. Before her, I wouldn’t have been able to picture [name_f]Renee[/name_f] out of the middle name spot. This little [name_f]Renee[/name_f] is smart, easy-going, and just downright adorable so I have to say it does work on a modern child (she promised to write a poem for every person who bought Girl [name_u]Scout[/name_u] cookies from her last year. [name_m]How[/name_m] cute is that?)

I actually think it is ready for a revival. I would love to meet a young girl named [name_f]Renee[/name_f]. It’s a lovely name, and for whatever reason it doesn’t feel all that dated to me. Maybe because I’ve never known anyone named [name_f]Renee[/name_f].
