[name_m]Aurelian[/name_m] has been my second favorite masculine name for over 5 years now. But due to my mom’s speech impediment, my husband and I have sadly decided to nix it. It’ll now be moved to the middle name spot. I’m looking for new inspiration to replace [name_m]Aurelian[/name_m] and hopefully round out my top 5, which has felt stale for quite some time. Some info if it’s helpful:
Our favorite masculine name is [name_m]Emrys[/name_m].
My mom struggles a little with the long A sound (ate, shape, tame), but especially so when combined with an R or L sound. I plan on asking her to pronounce names for me to be sure it won’t be a problem for her, so you don’t have to keep this in mind but wanted to mention it!
My overall taste is basically uncommon/historical/mythological but I’m open to essentially any uncommon masculine name you think I might like! Other masculine names I love besides [name_m]Emrys[/name_m] and [name_m]Aurelian[/name_m]: [name_m]Percival[/name_m], Calidore, [name_m]Basil[/name_m], [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m], Alcuin
Thank you for your suggestions! I love Elyan, but unfortunately we have too many people in my close family with [name_f]El[/name_f]- names for me to use one. You’ve pinned my style down really well, [name_u]Oberon[/name_u] and [name_m]Rune[/name_m] are also loves of mine!
Thank you for your suggestions as well! I love Galahad, [name_m]Endymion[/name_m], [name_m]Evander[/name_m], [name_u]Valentine[/name_u], [name_m]Isidore[/name_m], and [name_m]Romulus[/name_m]. [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] has been on my list as a middle for awhile as my parents were married on [name_u]Valentine[/name_u]'s [name_u]Day[/name_u] and I always thought it would be a lovely way to honor them! I’ll have to start thinking more about using it, it really is a great name.
