[name_m]Just[/name_m] looking for some opinions on these new crushes…
[name_m]Viggo[/name_m]
[name_m]Casimir[/name_m] (but pronunciation slightly confuses me lol)
Jago
[name_m]Orson[/name_m]
[name_m]Calix[/name_m]
Amos
Cato
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m]
Caius
[name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] (too feminine?)
[name_m]Plato[/name_m] (too pretentious?)
[name_m]Darwin[/name_m]
[name_m]Atlas[/name_m]
[name_m]Cashel[/name_m]
[name_m]Remus[/name_m]
[name_m]Theon[/name_m]
[name_m]Augustus[/name_m]
[name_m]Ignatius[/name_m] (too much for a first?)
[name_m]Rufus[/name_m] (okay, not a new crush but had to include him :P)
I’m really loving Greek and [name_m]Roman[/name_m] names at the moment, especially that end in -us/-as- do you think there could be two if these types of names in the same sibset? Eg [name_m]Rufus[/name_m] and [name_m]Atlas[/name_m]?
if you had to pick twin boys names from here what would they be?
I think [name_m]Rufus[/name_m] and [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] are a great combo actually. I don’t think they’re too similar.
[name_m]Viggo[/name_m] - there’s something about [name_m]Viggo[/name_m] that throws me off…I guess it always feels like it has an accent. Like someone with a Russian accent saying “we go”.
[name_m]Casimir[/name_m] - cas-ih-meer is how I say it. I think it’s lovely! A little fancy for my taste, but a great name
[name_m]Orson[/name_m] - I like it. I’ve never met one so my only visual for this name is the author [name_m]Orson[/name_m] [name_m]Scott[/name_m] [name_m]Card[/name_m]
[name_m]Calix[/name_m] - I’m not fond of this one. Sounds a bit like a [name_f]Star[/name_f] Trek name.
[name_m]Amos[/name_m] - love [name_m]Amos[/name_m]!! great name
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] - I like [name_m]Atticus[/name_m]. I don’t think I’d be brave enough to use it, but I know someone who used it as a middle
[name_m]Caius[/name_m] - okay, I can see it really working well for a boy. It just feels very historical to me. Like [name_f]Cleopatra[/name_f]
[name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] - no, I don’t think it’s too feminine at all. I think immediately of Kramer from Seinfeld, so it has a rather clowny feel to me.
[name_m]Plato[/name_m] - sorry, but for me I think it is a bit pretentious. Not that it couldn’t work for some. I like [name_m]Dante[/name_m] though.
[name_m]Darwin[/name_m] - not my favorite.
[name_m]Atlas[/name_m] - I like [name_m]Atlas[/name_m]. I want to love it, but it’s too much of a “thing” for me to personally love. Like Almanac as a name
[name_m]Cashel[/name_m] - I don’t really like the “cash” names ([name_m]Cassius[/name_m], [name_m]Cash[/name_m], etc)
[name_m]Remus[/name_m] - aww, I love [name_m]Remus[/name_m]. I would love to meet someone named [name_m]Remus[/name_m]!
[name_m]Theon[/name_m] - I really want to love this one. As a character name in a book I think it’s rockin awesome! But my practical side says he’d be spelling his name all the stinkin time!
[name_m]Augustus[/name_m] - I prefer [name_m]Augustine[/name_m], but I do prefer this to just [name_u]August[/name_u].
[name_m]Ignatius[/name_m] - for me it is a bit much as a first. I think some people can rock it, but it’s a heavy one. Nice mn though
[name_m]Rufus[/name_m] - love [name_m]Rufus[/name_m]!!!
I love [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m], nn [name_m]Iggy[/name_m] or [name_m]Nate[/name_m]. [name_m]Nash[/name_m] could work too. I think with an approachable nickname it’s fine as a first.
Also love [name_m]Caius[/name_m], [name_m]Amos[/name_m], [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] as a middle, [name_m]Augustus[/name_m]… And like [name_m]Viggo[/name_m], [name_m]Theon[/name_m], [name_m]Orson[/name_m], [name_m]Cashel[/name_m], [name_m]Rufus[/name_m]… Not such a fan of [name_m]Plato[/name_m], [name_m]Cosmo[/name_m], [name_m]Darwin[/name_m], or [name_m]Remus[/name_m].
For twins I’d pick maybe [name_m]Theon[/name_m] and [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] ([name_u]Theo[/name_u] & [name_u]Gus[/name_u])?
[name_m]Viggo[/name_m]- I don’t really care for this one, it’s just not pleasant to my ears.
[name_m]Casimir[/name_m]- This one is a gp of mine, I love the way it flows and the nickname “[name_m]Cas[/name_m]”.
[name_m]Orson[/name_m]- It’s started growing on me lately, and I think it would make a great middle.
[name_m]Calix[/name_m]- Not my style, I prefer [name_m]Callum[/name_m].
[name_m]Amos[/name_m]- [name_u]Love[/name_u] this! It’s one of my favorites on your list.
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m]- I love this one too, it sounds so fresh but it has history.
[name_m]Caius[/name_m]- Not my favorite, it feels a little pretentious to me.
[name_m]Cosmo[/name_m]- I just think of the magazine. Or the Fairly Odd Parents.
[name_m]Plato[/name_m]- See [name_m]Caius[/name_m].
[name_m]Darwin[/name_m]- It just sounds dated to me, but I could see it as a middle.
[name_m]Atlas[/name_m]- I think this is a great name, my only worry is would people associate it with the titan who was punished by being forced to hold up the heavens? I don’t think so, but it makes me pause.
[name_m]Cashel[/name_m]- [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t care for this one, sorry.
[name_m]Remus[/name_m]- [name_m]Remus[/name_m] is super cute! I love the whole [name_m]Remus[/name_m]/[name_m]Romulus[/name_m] story, and then there’s the [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] reference too.
[name_m]Theon[/name_m]- [name_m]How[/name_m] do you pronounce this? I like it pronounced [name_m]Thay[/name_m]-on, but not Thee-on.
[name_m]Augustus[/name_m]- I love this, with the nickname [name_m]Augie[/name_m].
[name_m]Ignatius[/name_m]- I could see this as a first name, but I would use it as a middle. The nickname [name_m]Iggy[/name_m] is super cute, and I love the suggestion of [name_m]Nash[/name_m].
[name_m]Rufus[/name_m]- It’s cute, just not my style. I like your nickname, Ru, for it though.
As far as twins, I like [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] and [name_m]Casimir[/name_m] together. [name_m]Casimir[/name_m] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] and [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] [name_m]Theon[/name_m], nicknamed [name_m]Cas[/name_m] and [name_m]Augie[/name_m].
[name_m]Viggo[/name_m] - it’s a cool name, sounds good in Scandinavia but not sure about it said in an english or an american accent
[name_m]Casimir[/name_m] - love it, feels grand, has history tied to it but is totally usable and “normal”
[name_m]Orson[/name_m] - don’t care for -son names as first names
[name_m]Calix[/name_m] - im unsure, i want to like it but I keep thinking “dog’s name”
[name_m]Amos[/name_m] -like it, simple but different
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] - it’s ok
[name_m]Caius[/name_m] - prefer [name_u]Cai[/name_u]
[name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] - not too feminine but I prefer [name_m]Cosimo[/name_m]
[name_m]Plato[/name_m] - yes, pretentious
[name_m]Darwin[/name_m] - could work but not my favourite
[name_m]Atlas[/name_m] - really like this one
[name_m]Cashel[/name_m] -prefer cassian or cassius
[name_m]Remus[/name_m] - doesn’t sound good to me
[name_m]Theon[/name_m] -like the sound
[name_m]Augustus[/name_m] -prefer [name_u]August[/name_u] but [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] works too
[name_m]Ignatius[/name_m] - too much, too complicated
[name_m]Rufus[/name_m] - again “dog name”
For twin boys I want to say [name_m]Amos[/name_m] and [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] even if I’m not a big fan of twin names starting with the same letter.
