Due in [name_u]January[/name_u] with baby #3. We really love the name [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. But I’m reconsidering [name_f]Claire[/name_f] as a middle name. I love the name, but I feel like I’ve been seeing [name_f]Claire[/name_f] in the middle spot frequently lately. Anyone else seeing this as a trend? Should it affect our pick??
I do think [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is beginning to feel like a standard middle name, similar to [name_f]Marie[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f] or [name_f]Anne[/name_f], because it just flows so well with virtually any first name. [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is beautiful, and I don’t think the middle name should affect your pick too much as middle names aren’t very commonly used anyways. However, if you’re still having doubts and want some more options:
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Naomi[/name_f]?
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Colette[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f], but if you’re unsure perhaps [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_u]Blaire[/name_u]? [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]?
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is really sweet. I think [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is used fairly often in the middle, but I don’t think that should put you off if you love it. The name has a great flow and it’s one that feels very cute but also mature.
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is a nice suggestion for pp as is [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_u]Blaire[/name_u]
[name_u]Love[/name_u] the suggestion of [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u]. So sophisticated.
I still think [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is great though. I personally am not feeling it to be overdone, but it would make sense as a 1 syllable, classic, feminine name that lots of people would choose it.
[name_f]Claire[/name_f] has been a very common middle name for the last 30 years or so, but it does seem to be even more the last few years. However, there’s a reason for that: it’s beautiful and it goes with many names! I don’t personally think it should affect your pick. [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is beautiful!
I understand what you mean, I think [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] could go with a longer middle name if it works with LN!
If we have a daughter, we’ll be using [name_f]Claire[/name_f] as a double middle. I am seeing it a lot more lately but I love it so much and think it flows so well I’m okay with that. [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is beautiful but if you’re put off by that then maybe go with something else. I like the suggestion of [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. Or maybe do a double middle like we plan to? Like [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]?
I think [name_f]Claire[/name_f] really nicely grounds [name_f]Naomi[/name_f]. I also like [name_u]Blair[/name_u]. They are smart names together. [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f], to me, makes it all a bit too pretty.
I think it’s absolutely still usable. [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is very cute and stylish imo.
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is beautiful, however, you are beyond blessed to be having this issue BEFORE your daughter is born. After naming my daughter 6 months ago something super trendy (in a dark labor room with spotty internet and a lot of pressure to pick “a name”) that I did not realize was so trendy, I cannot even say her name out loud and feel no attachment to it.
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] is recognizable, beautiful, Biblical and trending at #69 in 2017, up from #191 in 2000. I think [name_f]Claire[/name_f] should be fine, BUT is it a family name? After naming my daughter, I regret not using a family name because it didn’t “flow” or something.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any family names you would like to use REGARDLESS of some perfect “flow?”
Thanks so much for all your feedback!! Very encouraging and helpful.
I have known a lot of Naomis and Claires although they are nice names. I love some of your other names in your signature.
[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t let it affect your choice - [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is gorgeous and I don’t think it matters that other people realize that too.
I’m so sorry, kari…are you considering changing her name?
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is lovely.
If you decide you want something else, though, here are some other short and fairly traditional names that don’t seem to be as common in the middle spot as, for instance, [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_f]Jane[/name_f]:
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Fay[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Fern[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Liv[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Fleur[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Maud[/name_f]/ [name_f]Maude[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Cleo[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Clea[/name_f] is very close to [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f], which could be a positive (as a way to get the sound you like with a slight spin), or negative (if you’re worried about mishearing/misspelling)
Good luck with the decision, and congratulations!
I like the combo but I see where you’re coming from. Because [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is kind of benign and one syllable, it’s often thrown in the middle spot and borders on filler. It’s not quite a [name_f]Grace[/name_f] or a [name_f]Mae[/name_f], but it fits the profile.
If you like [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] you should use it, but in my opinion it is used too much what about [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f] or [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u]? All similar but more modernised and less common.
