What do people think of the name Reve? Would you pronounce it like Rev or Reev?
Rev, as in dream in [name_m]French[/name_m]?
I’d say ‘reev’. It doesn’t seem like a name to me.
I’d say reev unless there was an accent (rêve), in which I’d say rev, as it’s a word in [name_m]French[/name_m].
I have never heard this as a name before. It sounds a tad masculine and I much prefer names like [name_f]Neve[/name_f]. My automatic pronunciation thought was “reeve.”
Edit: I meant to add that I think I could definitely warm up to the name and would certainly think it fascinating if I met someone with the name!
I’d want to say it as ‘rev’, like “rev your engine”. It doesn’t feel feminine.
For some reason I want to say rev-ay, like [name_u]Rene[/name_u].
Reve, I would say it like Reev. I actually quite like it, especially as a nickname…although I don’t know for what.
