I love the vintage charm it has and was wondering what others thought. It was popular during the 1950s, I think.
Also, what do you think of [name]Sylvester[/name]?

You’re not the only one who likes [name]Rex[/name]–my husband actually suggested to me it a couple of days ago! That said, I’m not a fan, myself. It has distinctly canine associations for me.
[name]Sylvester[/name], on the other hand, I really like. To me, it has a similar vibe to [name]Theodore[/name]. Also, I especially like the [name]Sly[/name] nn.
I used to look after a beautiful little boy during called [name]Rex[/name] before he started school and he is a sweet, funny, outgoing, gorgeous adorable cutie pie, at first the name sounded so funny for me to envision on a little boy, I mean apart from a dog my pop had when I was young the only other [name]Rex[/name] I knew was 87 and lived near my nan but ‘grandma and grandpa names’ are back so why not
I was talking with him last month actually about school and he said he was the only one with his name and that his cousin [name]Aiden[/name] who was in his class too had to be [name]Aiden[/name] H because there was [name]Aiden[/name] B and [name]Aiden[/name] L too and seemed pretty impressed with not having to have a letter after his name
Personally I dislike [name]Sylvester[/name] but that’s not really any reflection on the name just my style (also it reminds me of a cat which is funny because my pop had a dog named [name]Rex[/name] but I really do see the appeal of that name since I looked after one, I guess it just takes one to influence a name for someone either in the positive or negative
I think it’s okay as a nickname, maybe for something like [name]Hendrix[/name] to give him other options like [name]Henry[/name]
It’s OK, but I can’t help but think of it as a dog’s name!
It’s my cousin’s name. I really like it.
I like [name]Rex[/name] okay. I don’t think it’s too out there, but i prefer it as a nickname for Zarex which I have on my name list.
[name]Sylvester[/name] I [name]LOVE[/name]! I wish people would start using this name again! I love it. So vintage and cool.
I absolutely love it as nn for [name]Reginald[/name]. It doesn’t seem particularly doggy to me.
[name]Sylvester[/name] is cool too!
I know it is getting more popular, but it is all dog for me. [name]Sylvester[/name] is all cat.
I don’t think it’s too out there. I associate it with [name]Rex[/name] [name]Harrison[/name], the actor. And also that it has king associations. I think it’s handsome, and it fits in well with modern taste. X endings are popular and it’s short and strong. I say go for it!
I know a lot of people with the last name [name]Sylvester[/name] so it’s hard for me to imagine it up front. shrug It’s not bad, just odd to me.
I just think it sounds like a dog!
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Rex[/name]! So vintage and handsome♥
[name]Rex[/name] is OK to me. I’m not super enthusiastic about it but I like it fine. I think it’s useable.
[name]Sylvester[/name]…it’s not just the cat, it’s polyester etc. Not a fan.
[name]Felix[/name] is a good compromise name somewhere between [name]Rex[/name] and [name]Sylvester[/name] but to me, much nicer than both.
Not at all, really! I think [name]Rex[/name] is quite viable.
[name]Sylvester[/name] is likable…I like it cause I like [name]Sylvester[/name] Stallone, and it reminds me of my childhood due to Looney Tunes. It’s also reminder of [name]Salvatore[/name] which I like.
[name]Rex[/name] is ok but I see it as more as a nn.
