Rex William Townley Wickham

[name]Madeleine[/name] Wickham (aka [name]Sophie[/name] Kinsella), author of the Shopaholic books, and her husband, [name]Henry[/name], have welcomed their fourth son, [name]Rex[/name] [name]William[/name] Townley Wickham, at 7 pounds and 10 ounces. Siblings are [name]Freddy[/name], [name]Hugo[/name] and [name]Oscar[/name].

What do you think of the name?

I don’t like it.
This name sounds a little classless to my mind, because of the final “-x”, very too shot : 3 letters, and many people call their dogs like this too.

[name]Rex[/name] is okay but I love [name]Freddy[/name], [name]Hugo[/name] and [name]Oscar[/name]! I would have picked something like [name]Ted[/name] ([name]Theodore[/name]), [name]Ned[/name] ([name]Edward[/name]), [name]Arthur[/name], or [name]Frank/name. Something classic but offbeat and cool.

I love it. [name]Rex[/name] is a major guilty pleasure of mine, underused but interesting, an old name but the X makes it modern, familiar but uncommon. I love [name]William[/name] in the middle and Townley sounds like a family name… so basically to me it’s a perfect name… it’s the kind of name I would pick. And [name]Rex[/name] Wickham sounds like an AWESOME guy!

I thought I was the only living [name]Rex[/name] Wickham in the UK but it seems no longer! It certainly made it easy for people to find me on Facebook/Google etc.
Still there are few years difference in our ages so I guess I don’t have to worry for a while yet

[name]How[/name] 'bout that! So, [name]Rex[/name], do you like your name?

I think the entire name is fabulous! It has a great edge in my opinion. Good job!

[name]Both[/name] are beautiful dogs - and [name]Rex[/name] certainly looks great for his age

Might I just mention that [name]Max[/name] is an extremely popular dog name, but that doesn’t seem to bug anybody.

I like [name]Rex[/name], it’s got character. And at least he has [name]William[/name] to fall back if [name]Rex[/name] just doesn’t fit him later.

Weird. Too different,
