Rex?

[name_u]Baby[/name_u] boy is due in a few days now, and we’re considering [name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_m]Orlando[/name_m]. We’re just a bit concerned that [name_u]Rex[/name_u] will work while he’s young but it might sound silly when he’s older. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it will work for a teenager or an adult, or know a teenager or adult with the name? Should we use [name_u]Rex[/name_u] as a nickname for another name instead so he has more options when he’s older? Thanks

I’m a bit biased because [name_u]Rex[/name_u] is on my short list… but I definitely think it works for all ages! It’s an old Hollywood name, and it sounds super trendy now, imo.

[name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_m]Orlando[/name_m] sounds very handsome and dignified!!

If you still arent sure, here are some ideas…
[name_u]Royce[/name_u]
[name_m]Ramsey[/name_m]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]
[name_u]Ray[/name_u]
[name_m]Garrett[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Rhett[/name_m])
[name_u]Roy[/name_u]
[name_m]Richard[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Rick[/name_m])
[name_m]Randall[/name_m]
[name_m]Russell[/name_m]
[name_m]Ross[/name_m]
[name_m]Roland[/name_m]

I think [name_u]Rex[/name_u] works best as a nickname and its hard for me to picture on a kid over 10. I see ‘t-rex’ potential but I think it’s cute as a nickname. Maybe Brexley, Rexton, [name_u]Ripley[/name_u], [name_u]Ridley[/name_u], [name_m]Rutherford[/name_m], [name_m]Ronald[/name_m], [name_m]Ronan[/name_m], [name_m]Roman[/name_m], etc. Or even [name_m]Orlando[/name_m] nn [name_u]Rex[/name_u].

[name_u]Rex[/name_u] works! I have a feeling you’re ahead of the curve and [name_u]Rex[/name_u] will gain popularity over the coming decades. In my view, that’s a good thing, because when he’s an adult he’ll have that cool name everybody wants, rather than a name that’s super popular now, but by adulthood is already rather dated.

I love [name_u]Rex[/name_u]. I think it will sound great on all ages. I have met many adults names [name_m]Jim[/name_m], [name_m]Chip[/name_m], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], etc.

[name_u]Rex[/name_u] suited the Actor [name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_m]Harrison[/name_m]. although not his full name, it is hard to imagine him under another name. I like the name [name_u]Rex[/name_u].

[name_u]Rex[/name_u] is one of my favourites and I think [name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_m]Orlando[/name_m] is great! I know a teenaged [name_u]Rex[/name_u] and it suits him well; there’s also an Australian photographer called [name_u]Rex[/name_u] Dupain. For me it works as well as any name does for all ages. Anyway, congratulations!

[name_u]Rex[/name_u] definitely works on a teenager. In fact I happen to know a teenage [name_u]Rex[/name_u] and it fits him nicely.

I think [name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_m]Orlando[/name_m] is fabulous. [name_u]Rex[/name_u] is fairly popular where I live (UK) and definitely works for all ages. I love it!

I like [name_u]Rex[/name_u] on its own! It feels relaxed but versatile. [name_u]Red[/name_u] [name_m]Orlando[/name_m] is excellent

I can visualize a [name_u]Rex[/name_u] of any age and really do like it. [name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_m]Orlando[/name_m] is a handsome choice.

I actually know a [name_u]Rex[/name_u] who is in his mid-forties or so. I’m not sure if it is his given name or a nickname, but it works for him. I would just imagine a lifetime of T-[name_u]Rex[/name_u] jokes. I would probably go with another given name and use [name_u]Rex[/name_u] as a nickname for options.

[name_u]Rex[/name_u] [name_m]Orlando[/name_m] sounds nice together but on it’s own “[name_u]Rex[/name_u]” does make me think of a dog’s name. It does seem like it’s on trend so I don’t think he’ll be alone it’s just the association that comes up for me.

[name_u]Rex[/name_u] is a very cool name! It definitely has that historical yet on-trend feel. Go for it!

I’ve only known adults called [name_u]Rex[/name_u] and both of them carried it very well. I think it’s a great name.

I like [name_u]Rex[/name_u]! The only people I’ve met named [name_u]Rex[/name_u] have been older men. It never sounded like a “childish” name to me. I think it’s fine for all ages.
