What do you guys think about sisters with rhyming middle names? I didn’t think about the rhyme until I wrote the names down beside one another. They are:
[name]Alice[/name] [name]Johanna[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Susannah[/name]
[name]Johanna[/name] honours my father [name]John[/name] and [name]Susannah[/name] honours my mother [name]Susan[/name]. So are rhyming middle names passable or tacky? Thoughts?
It might be tacky if it wasn’t so significant, but [name]Alice[/name] [name]Johanna[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Susannah[/name] are fabulous, and I love that they’re honoring. I wouldn’t give a second thought about it. Some families do it on purpose–[name]Johanna[/name] and [name]Susannah[/name] are just great family names. If it really bothers you, though, you could do something like [name]Alice[/name] [name]Jane[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Susannah[/name] or [name]Alice[/name] [name]Johanna[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Susette[/name].
I agree that it is fine in the middle name spot, since not a lot of people will know their middle names only if they asked. They are both very pretty names and I love them as the middle with [name]Alice[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name].
Such meaningful and beautiful names would be wonderful for sisters. The rhyming is just a coincidence. I wouldn’t hesitate to use [name]Alice[/name] [name]Joanna[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Susannah[/name].
