Rhys-first impressions

I have recently fallen in love with [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]. [name_u]Love[/name_u] this spelling. But when you hear it do you think of a girl at first ([name_u]Reese[/name_u]?)

I definitely think of a boy. I’m in the UK and I’ve only ever seen [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]/[name_u]Reece[/name_u] used irl as a boy name

[name_u]Love[/name_u]! All boy.

Great name, and it’s masculine to me (especially as spelled [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]).

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] it! [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] is all boy to me no matter how you spell it. I know a guy who spells his name [name_u]Reese[/name_u], but it’s still masculine looking to me despite it being used on girls.

I don’t mind [name_u]Reese[/name_u]. However, I really dislike the spelling [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]. I always want to pronounce it rise with a long i sound instead of the long e.

It is pretty unisex to me, I don’t lean one way or the other. It would be one of those ‘find out for sure before assuming.’ Much like [name_u]Riley[/name_u].

I love [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] and think it’s a shame that parents of boys shy away from names because they have been used…or similar names have been used for girls. There is no reason for [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] to “go to the girls”.

One of the brothers on [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] in the Middle was named [name_u]Reese[/name_u] (with this spelling) and I’ve loved the name ever since the show came out. [name_u]Reese[/name_u] Witherspoon seems to have turned it into a unisex name, but it’s still a masculine name to me. I think it’s fine on girls, but I don’t think of it as a girl’s name when I hear it.

[name_u]Rhys[/name_u] is definitely all boy to me. [name_u]Reese[/name_u], however, is mostly girl.

The only [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] I know is a boy, so it definitely leans that way for me.

I like it and farbprefer it on a boy.

[name_u]Rhys[/name_u], particularly spelled this way is all boy

I just saw this thread. My granddaughter was born on this date. Her name is [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]”

I don’t think of [name_u]Reese[/name_u] at all, I think of [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] because of how it’s spelled. I would personally think it’s a nickname for the cute name [name_m]Ryland[/name_m] though.
