Rhys for a girl?

Maybe as a middle?

I love this spelling, though I know it’s not the more traditional. Hmmm

Thoughts?

As a middle name the [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] spelling isn’t so bad, but it still screams boy to me. I like the [name_u]Reese[/name_u] spelling better for a girl.

[name_u]Rhys[/name_u] for a girl doesn’t work at all. It is all male. I love the spelling as well, but not for a girl. I’m afraid you should use [name_u]Reese[/name_u] if this is the name you choose.

Not choosing it yet. Throwing it around for a boy too. Probably as a middle no matter which gender I end up with (if I use it at all)

Maybe if you want a less traditional spelling try [name_m]Reis[/name_m]? It’s not that bad but spelled [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] it looks to me like it should be pronounced like [name_u]Rice[/name_u] sorry.

[name_u]Rhys[/name_u] is the traditional way to spell it for a boy. When I see [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] vs [name_u]Reese[/name_u], [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] will always be ALL boy to me, whereas [name_u]Reese[/name_u] could be either.

I like [name_u]Reese[/name_u] or [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]. I love feminine names for girls, but also love many unisex ones, so the spellings [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] or [name_u]Reese[/name_u] are fine. The only [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] spelling I don’t like is [name_u]Reece[/name_u] because it reminds me of peanut butter cups.

Either as a first or middle I like it. It is short and cute. Not too common but familiar and seems “nickname proof.”

[name_u]Rhys[/name_u] is definitely an all-boy spelling. I agree that it looks cool. However, due to most people having the association with [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] being a male, it could lead to some unnecessary confusion.

itskitty - [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] isn’t a less traditional spelling. As far as I know it is actually one of the more original forms of the name. The spelling just indicates that it’s a male name as opposed to the feminine “[name_u]Reese[/name_u]” variation. I think that most people have enough familiarity with the name to not pronounce it as [name_u]Rice[/name_u], but I guess it depends on where the person is from.

Woah, I’m super confused now. I am only aware of [name_u]Reese[/name_u]'s Peanut Butter Cups, not [name_u]Reece[/name_u]'s. Did you mix them up or are they different depending on the country you’re from? 0.o

I know a girl named [name_f]Karissa[/name_f], who goes by the nick name [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]. She pronounces it “riss”. I personally love the name [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] so much on a boy, I would never use it for a girl. But I can see how it could swing pink. I think as a middle name it would work just fine. [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]. Works fine.

[name_u]Rhys[/name_u] is 100% masculine and [name_u]Reese[/name_u] is 100% feminine to me.

[name_u]Rhys[/name_u] is a boy’s name.

I love [name_u]Rhys[/name_u], for a boy.

yeah, the more I think about it. There’s too many girl names I’m in love with to try to configure to throw this into the mix as well.
I love it though, so it’s definitely getting added to the boy name possibilities.

Appreciate all the feeback though.
