I actually am very interested in the idea of this thread, as I know and have grown up with/around so many people like this, and while it feels a little bit condescending to me to find it amusing I still do so I will definitely play:

For Funsies

Billy-Bob & [name_f]Sue[/name_f] with:
Billy-Bob [name_m]Jr[/name_m] [name_m]Junior[/name_m]

[name_f]Suzy[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
and [name_f]Cathy[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u] on the way

because most redneck names actually stem from a longer “proper” name and you just end up with the double, sometimes wacky names

Real Life Great-Great Aunt this reminded me of

Elb3rta Zo3 & Sl!m (don’t know his real name if he had one, he always went by Slim)
K3nneth [name_m]Kenny[/name_m] (family name)
J@mes [name_m]Jimmy[/name_m] (family name)
P3ggy Su3 (named for an aunt I believe, but not sure how as that aunt went by [name_f]Stella[/name_f] and I don’t know if/what her middle name was)
C@rl R@y (family name)
C@rrolyn (named for an uncle, Carroll)
Sh3rrlene (named for moms maiden name, Sherrell)
T0nona (named for a river/moutain/something in [name_u]New[/name_u] Mexico where her mom was from)

And not to be mean, they are my family, but I come from a very very redneck / mountain folk place in the Ozark Mountains and I legitimately feel like te naming traditions, while laughably humorous at times, are just so uniquely wh!te tr@sh I felt I had to share

I was thinking more in terms of…

[name_u]Daryl[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] “Dare-devil” (20)
[name_u]Jack[/name_u] [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] “Twig” (15)

Well this hits close to home…I grew up in an area where more wealthy people came by to make fun of us “rednecks”. I get that people are poking fun at the stereotype but I’d like to think that the vast majority of us are loving, resourceful people… most of the people where I grew up had very typical names. [name_u]Michael[/name_u], [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], [name_f]Emma[/name_f], etc. Some did pass down names such as T3nnis or [name_m]Brick[/name_m].

It was actually my “better off” family members who nicknamed their kids things like Dud and Duck haha.
