The names That Rise for Most (1 spot, the highest “rising spots” spot, per country):

Elisa, Ayla, Jasmine, Sofia / Roza, Ida, Oona, Bella, Dafne, Helene, Sofiia, Olivija, Mara, Ronja, Alma

(Personally I feel like most of these like Sofia, Olivija, Bella and Dafne fit the most of the trends in US/UK as well, although I am not from US/UK myself so I cannot talk… Generally these names or variants feel very popular in most of the world, too, somehow)

Notes
The “New Entries” are in ORDER OF POPULARITY, not letter
If there is more than one name like, if there are more than one name that went 55 spots up in Spain for example, they will be in alphabetical and not popularity order.

I did not put France because it has too many names and I will make a separate post
I did not put Germany because I could not find anything. For the German Berries: Do you have any recent list with also written how much a name has risen? Thanks! @OpheliaFlora @Wandarine (Sorry for the tag and the bother by the way! Feel free to not respond)

Some questions for you
What are your favourite names / style out of these?
What do you think of the “popularity”? Can you observe something, like possible influences to your countries or similarity in popularity in US/UK as well?

Thanks for sharing!

It would be interesting to see if the rise of any of these names is connected with celebrities, pop culture etc.

I see a lot of Ukrainian names in the Polish list. That makes sense, because of the refugee population.

Regarding [name_u]Germany[/name_u], I could be wrong but I don’t believe the [name_m]German[/name_m] government put out an official list. All the statistics I’ve seen were unofficial.

You’re right, there are no official numbers. The most popular unofficial statistics are found on Beliebte Vornamen.de.
The “fastest risers” according to the site were:
Freya, Luana, Milena, Liv, Anastasia and Kian, Leano, Enno, Lias, Luan

Some things I’ve noticed:

  • There seems to be a lot of short, snappy names (maybe in line with the UK nicknames-as-full-names trend?)
  • a number of vintage choices that seem to be growing popular where I am too
  • quite a number of -ira and -ina names
  • Arabic names seem to have grown in popularity too!
