I think [name_f]Rita[/name_f] is outdated, but [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is more vintage and ready for a comeback. It’s super cute!
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is too Biblical to me, and has goody two-shoes connotations, but [name_f]Rita[/name_f] is unexpected and lively. If you’ve ever seen the Danish tv show [name_f]Rita[/name_f] (it’s on Netflix) you’d definitely like the name more too!
[name_f]Rita[/name_f] feels so full of life and fun, while [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is very starched, buttoned up and lacking any playful qualities imo. I voted [name_f]Rita[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]! Such a rich name and I love the nn [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f]! [name_f]Rita[/name_f] is okay but I’m not sure if it’s ready for a comeback.
Both names are the names of my grandmother (one who is sadly passed away, and one who is 80) so to me that grandmother names, but I prefer [name_f]Rita[/name_f] to [name_f]Ruth[/name_f].

Depends what you are going for. [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is coming back as I know quite a few. It is the safer choice as [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Esther[/name_f] are in.
[name_f]Rita[/name_f] has more of a fifties vibe- right up my alley. I bit edgier and I think people will be more critical. [name_f]Rita[/name_f] fits more in with [name_u]Frankie[/name_u], [name_f]Barbara[/name_f], [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f].
I prefer [name_f]Rita[/name_f]! Where I live, [name_f]Rita[/name_f] is very popular since the 90’s so I see it a lot in young women, girls and babies. It’s easy for me to imagine a baby named [name_f]Rita[/name_f]. [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is a beautiful classic and a strong religious name.
